If I were to guess I'd say that Kia's demographic (which I hope is changing) isn't disposed to buying $40-50k cars, so they are pushing leases because of the lower payments. And in 3 years or less they'll have a nice supply of used Stingers, which are usually better-cared-for than owned vehicles. And there's more money in used cars than new ones.
