I see people apologizing for posting in two-month-old threads. Me? I'd bump a two-year-old thread that is on topic rather than start a new one. Why? Because having many duplicate threads dilutes search results, making it difficult for people down the line to get answers to questions they have.

Everyone on the internet should watch this informational video from the steam forums and get a handle on old-school netiquette before apologizing for posting to two-month-old threads:

In other words, it's (nearly) always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one. A new one will only frak up search results and frustrate future users who come here looking for answers.

Your point is well taken, but have you tried the search function on this forum?
It has me and continues to leave me less than impressed...
YMMV
