I found that sometimes long song titles will scroll and other times it will not. What determines the scrolling of a long song title?

I believe it's tied to the metadata / tag types... but I only use streaming services, so I'm going off what I've seen in other platforms

Thanks for your suggestion reply. I will check it out.

To expand on this, there's a few ways titles get displayed in cars/media playing software/cd/dvd/bluray players...

1) Filename [Tom Petty - This Song Is Boring.mp3/flac/wav/etc]
2) Meta tag embedded [Tom Petty... This Song Is Boring...]
3) Depending on the file type and your head unit's compatibility with the file type, it would use the filename or the embedded data. The tell is if you're seeing the file type extension (.mp3, .flac, .wav , etc) displayed at the end. Meta Tags are clean and don't display the file extension.
4) Playlists, but I think most systems only use the playlist to order the songs and still pull the details for each song from the embedded meta data.

Make it easy on yourself and pick up an old iPod if you're planning to play via USB. The interface for regular USB is terrible whereas the iPod is pretty quick and easy to navigate. Also, if you're tech savvy they're easy to "hack" by adding much more storage using this

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

All good info... I'll toss in one more... avoid WAV files, the metadata isn't containerized in the file and can get lost when moving files

But just get a streaming service. .. it's 2021... not 2001

Song titles, heh: All I ever see is the title from beginning to the point where it cuts off. Scrolling titles, what a novel idea. (Oh, and I am USB MP3 and WMA user.)

Again thanks for your input. I appreciate taking time to help me with this issue.
