I was just in this boat, hopefully my experience helps. I was removing brass monkey dip from the stock wheels.

Fonzie is a very charismatic and passionate guy on the YouTubes, but save yourself $30+shipping for his magic removal spray and go to the local big box and get yourself a bottle of GooGone spray and a cheap brush or rags that you won’t need again. Spray the GooGone all over the dip, wait 5-10 minutes for it to do its thing, then start scrubbing/wiping. Once all the dip is broken down, hit it with the pressure washer. I washed the rims with dish soap afterward to eliminate the oily citrus residue and in order to prep them to re-dip.
Also, when you dip, use more product than you think you need. 6-7 heavy coats is optimal so that it is easily pealable later. The kits, especially the matte ones, are pretty underwhelming in terms of coverage. Ex: only four cans in the brass monkey kit, when I used 8 cans this last go round.
