Pitted Front Camera

Hi!
Has anyone else had issues with their front camera getting scratched and pitted? I am in Canada and the whole front of the car is 3M but the camera is pretty rough.

I took it to Kia and they suggested putting 3M on it, saying the solution they use will fill any voids.

A couple of weeks ago, somebody mentioned this very same thing. Can't find the thread. I recall the discussion going in the direction of replacing a clear cover that protects the camera. Anybody else?
