I ended up with a non-repairable puncture in the stock Bridgestone RE97s on my AWD GT2. I couldn't really find a pair of RE97s to replace them with (didn't look that hard) and figured it might be a good opportunity to try out some new kicks.
I did some research and was deciding between some all season Michelin Pilots and the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus tires. Both were ultra high performance all season with excellent professional level reviews. Since I work within the automotive industry, I was able to get a better deal on the Pirellis (along with a rebate) and have nothing but good things to say about them.
What I instantly noticed about them was they offer a firmer ride than the stock Bridgestones did. I don't mind the ride at all; it's more firm but not harsh. They aren't any noisier than the old tires but, man, the handling and grip is much improved. I haven't driven them that hard yet but just driving around town I notice that turn in is more responsive and they have a lot more grip. Subjectively, they make the car feel sportier and more performance oriented. I've had them in rain and snow and have no issues whatsoever. At a retail price of around $150 a piece they're also pretty reasonably priced and multiple professional reviews have mentioned long tread life. (they come with a 50K warranty)
If you're into how tires look, they are pretty plain looking but I'm not into looks so I don't care.
If you're looking for some ultra high performance all seasons, I highly recommend the P Zero All Season Plus. I don't know if I've ever had a new set of tires make this big of a difference on a car. I don't know why Kia didn't spec something like this as factory fitment on the Stinger. It definitely brings the car to a different level. I would guess that the firmer ride might turn some off but the gains are definitely worth it.
