Hi, all. So when I use my electronic parking brake, it doesn’t keep my car in place at all. I shifted into neutral and activated the EPB, but the car still moves. I hear it activating as normal as well as the light turning on when active. I have no abnormal warnings lights at all or anything and I always use my parking brake whenever I park. I’m at 190,000km. Are my parking brake shoes just worn out to the point of not working anymore and just needing replacement?

I actually had an issue with my parking brake. When reversing my car it would slam to a stop. Took it in and they found that the parking shoe liner separated from the metal base and jammed. Replacing the shoes was actually a really tough job as then never replaced one before and it is difficult getting in the back to secure them. I would say with you KMs you probably need to replace them

I can second what was said above. I did a full brake and rotor replacement on mine this spring and my liners came off all the rear shoes....yes every shoe...
I will say it is a horrible job replacing them...took me 7 hours to replace the shoes. The retainers are in a very hard spot and the actuator at the bottom is an odd design and hard to line up on the shoes....
If you arent very mechanically inclined I suggest paying to get them done.
