Have leased our Stinger gt, and have dealt with 3 paint issues in 3 months, chips with ease, scratches with ease, due to the fact that I did not want to get dinged when car is turned in at end of lease I have taken to a private paint shop, I am now into paint repairs for a total of 1600.00 and still have 33 months left on lease, holy s--t batman.

Did you pay $1,600 out of your own pocket for the paint issues? Why??o_O

Yes. Dealership did not want to claim any responsibility to paint issu . Said it was on us that we obviously r not protective of our car. I treat this vehicle as if it were gold. What scratches that have occured where also deep. Could not be buffed out. So I have taken upon myself again due to not wanting to get hammered when lease is up. This is our 4th kia and have never dealt with a issue like this.

Yeah, they gave you a bullshit answer and you took it. I'd suggest you take it back to them and tell them that they either fix it or you'll go to corporate. There is a Stinger VIP hotline that you can call and they'll try to help you. Not sure what the number is off the top of my head, though.

855.542.7733 was the number I called to get my SD card NAV update. I think that's the same one you'd want to call to expedite this.

Has the factory corrected the paint issue on the 2020 stingers ?

There never was a "paint issue" to correct, outside of the comparatively wide incidence on the Limited Sunset Yellow. Individual vehicles, in the extreme minority, do have issues. And Kia Corp covers those under warranty: not without a degree of hassle; some on here went away unsatisfied; others have received complete satisfaction; apparently based on the interchange between the disappointed owner and who they work through at Kia.

Seems, per the thread, this was not just a sunset yellow issue. There were black and silver paints with problems. Not looking for issues to fight with a new car?

its something to do with the oil in the undercoat reacting to certain paint colors. you didn't say what yours was. my sunset yellow was repainted on kias dime. you can see the photos in my album. and I know that the red's also had problems.
