• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi All

My Car is due mid Jan and want to get partial film and full ceramics. Have read the threads i can find here to get an idea of what I am after.

Has anyone had good experience in Melbourne. I am in South East but locations not critical.

Dealer goes through Motor One but the reviews are very poor.

Thanks

G’day, welcome to the forum, lots of sleepless nights until it arrives, in the meantime there is plenty of information here for you to absorb & I’m also confident our VIC members can also help you with advice.

Motor One must have the contract for all Kia dealers, mine used them for the paint protection and the interior leather/carpet protection. I don’t have any film other than the small pieces Kia put on the rear doors. What they’ve used makes the car pretty easy to clean, and it looks nice when it’s washed without having to polish it all the time but it’s paint protection from the elements, it will do sweet FA against stone chips etc. I swear almost every time I wash her I find another small stone chip in my bonnet. It pisses me off given how new the car is. They’re small and if you looked you probably wouldn’t see them at first glance but because I’ve noticed them I can’t unsee them and it annoys the shit out of me.

As for the interior, no issues other than the morons that applied it missed bits and they become noticeable as the treated area is darker than the non treated. Had it back to them once, am thinking about getting it redone at next service, figure I’ve paid for it might as well get it done properly.

Check their facebook. no intention of letting them touch the car. I asked the dealer about full bonnet, before i read up on Motor one and they said it wasnt an option.

Hi there @DMac , I can recommend a good business to do the PPF, they will do partial or full, whatever you like, they are in Tullamarine, if that's too far you can find others i guess closer to you, as for Ceramic Coating, i have been waiting for at least 6 months to take my Stinger to this place, it just never seems to be the right time, you look at their website and can see the Gallery of all the cars they have done, when you call you speak with the owner ( Morrie ) who is also the most experienced and qualified at Ceramic Coating, they coated one of the very first Stingers here in Melbourne, i have also seen in the Gallery on Facebook, a Deep Chroma Blue Stinger which i have seen in person back in Nov 2017 being detailed at my local dealership, if your interested look up reflection-perfection.com.au , and on Fackbook, they are located in Brunswick East.
I am still waitng for the right time to leave my car with them.

Have you considered a DIY for ceramic? The major cost in having someone do it for you is labour but the product itself (H9) is not expensive. Your car will be new so paint correction is probably not necessary. Give it a wash and clay bar, let it dry and apply, just take take your time. I did 3 coats on mine for less than $100.

Mine does Motor One too, they did paint & leather protection using Protekiv product as this is also the brand of car shampoo they give me to use.

Yeah exactly what they used on mine
I had this on my Sportage 5 years & my wife’s previous Koup 8 years, both without issue & they still looked freshly polished at trade in even though we only washed them, no further polish or treatment was done since new. Now applied to both my Stinger & wife’s new Cerato Hatch both 1 year now.

I’m happy with how polished it looks so far but it’s only 6 months old. Couple of issues with the interior but it’s nothing major and just needs to be reapplied which they’ve done once and were happy to do it. The manager was pissed when she first saw it, I’ve just noticed some more since I got back from os so I’ll hit them up again, but otherwise I’m happy with it.
