Hi everyone,

just thought I’d share this, this is on my 2019 Kia Stinger GT AWD. I know paint chips are common, but I failed to see this one and it looks like I was to late. Rusted up.I know these cars are notorious for paint problems. Just wanted to remind everyone have a once look over before a detail washing.

Hi. And welcome.

Where is that located? I'm not seeing it. Is that the only damage you've seen? It looks like something hit that edge. If this were paint failure you'd be seeing a lot more than one spot.

This is in Michigan, it’s the tiny brown spot near the winshield. I have chips in the usual spots reported by owners before. We have harsh weather and salt like crazy here, I tried my best to keep it clean through the winter and keep the salt residue to a minimum. With a mix of poor weather and paint problems, it doesn’t make for a fun time haha. I’m still loving the car regardless. I haven’t been able to get out as much but decided to give a look once over before heading out on a drive.

It looks like a rock chipped your paint and yes, you have surface rust. Take a little steel wool to remove the rust. Then, touch it with a little rust converter using a Q-tip. Then you can touch it up with a paint pen and clear coat. It'll be fine.
