Paddle shifter removal - help needed

Hello!

Anyone know how to remove the stock paddle shifters? Do I need to take the trim panels off the steering wheel to access? Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

You have to completely disassemble the steering wheel. As if you are swapping out one. It’s sucks but isn’t hugely complicated. Just take picture of how wires route as you disassemble.

Why are you removing the paddle shifters? The only thing I’ve seen after market are extensions that attach externally.

Thanks for the reply! I saw carbon fiber direct replacement paddles on ebay. They looked like they were good quality but I might just get the paddle extensions as it seems to be quite a bit of work just to replace them.

i broke one of my original paddle shifters/right with the CF extensions and ordered a new original shifter. Do they snap back on since i see 2 snap on clips on the back and seems to be what broke on the originals.

They do not "snap" back in. They are screwed in from the front.

They appear to be the longest full replacement paddles at 160mm, but if anyone has had a good experience with longer paddles I’d like to hear.

Not interested in extenders to the stock paddles, though.
