Just came across a listing on ebay for these side skirt extensions:
Fit 17-19 Kia Stinger Hatchback Ikon Style PP Side Skirts Side Skirts Extension 842961151458 | eBay

At $109.99, the price is a lot less than other alternatives. The ad says they are made from polypropylene. Seller is Ikon Motor Sports.

Anyone have thoughts about these? For example, is polypropylene a good material for this application? What about Ikon - are they reputable?

Also, how effective are side skirt extensions at helping keep spray, dirt and rocks from coming up and hitting the rocker panels?

My experience with Poly' is that it is soft and pliable , This design doesnt look functional to me the M&S looks the best so far IMHO

Can't speak from a functionality point of view, but strictly visual I'm not a fan

Wonder how they would work with mud guards? Front wheel.

Haven't dealt with any mudflaps yet, but looking at these less then helpful pictures it looks like there'd be a bit of contact

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
They are 85.5” long per the seller and I only have about 83.25” behind my front mud flaps so they don’t fit anyway.

Maybe because they look nice to somebody and he wants to stand out a bit from other stock stingers.

Maybe. But there are more effective ways of having one's stinger stand out:

Really? Like there are so many Stingers out there, one needs to add this sort of aftermarket glitz to make their car stand out? I have yet to see another Stinger in the wild!

Different people, different opinions. Now car is new and design is very good but after a while it will start to age and people will put more parts on it to keep the fresh look. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Tuner's way of thinking is: stock is never good enough even if it's good for 99% of people but he still has to change or add something to make his personal touch.
Let's finish with this as I don't want to argue about such little things as to why would somebody add sides on stinger or why someone needs an intake as stock is perfectly fine.

Not to quibble, but an intake mod can adds performance. It is a functional mod, not solely a cosmetic mod.

I get your point that "Tuners" want their car to stand our from the crowd. But for now, the "stand out" factor seems to be standard equipment. After 200,000 or so are on the road in the US, that will be a different story.

And yes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. However, I have yet to hear anyone say that the Stinger is an ugly car. Seems we may have different opinions of what ugly is, but most people agree on what is good-looking.

I wouldn't discuss about performance gains of intakes as it has more of placebo effect then real gains but let's leave this.
Some cars are modified as they are ugly or not very well designed but stinger is not one of them, it's very beautiful car and every modification is considered an upgrade to already good stock design.

This is how you should understand such appearance modifications some people do and not like car looks bad and we need to enhance crappy design.
You can get body parts for exotic cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini and owners sure don't buy them because italians made poor job on their design, it's just an upgrade.

I appreciate that this is apparently your livelihood and surely people are entitled to do what they want to their cars. I will let you have the last word. Peace.

For daily driving, add-ons like spoilers, lips, splitters and diffusers don't provide a material performance benefit. However, they are fairly popular so people must be adding them for other reasons.

The main reason I would consider adding side skirt extensions would be if they help limit road-spray, dirt and gravel from coming up and hitting the rocker panels. Can anyone tell me how effective they are for this purpose?

Another possible reason to add body modifications would be for cosmetic appearance purposes. That's a matter of personal taste. Personally, I wouldn't want a giant plastic whale-tail. However, fairly modest black accent pieces along the bottom of the rocker panels on my Snow White Pearl Stinger might look good.

Regarding Ikon Motorsports, they appear to be a relatively small operation located in the LA Basin. Yelp reviews are ok overall, but several of the reviews don't inspire a lot of confidence...

Body parts are only added for appearance and they have little to no practical use weather it's lip or body kit, spoiler, carbon fiber parts, all kinds of exterior and interior accessories. It's all bout the looks and some little weight savings you get with replacement of hood (if stock is metal) is just a positive side effect as realistically a bit smaller weight for street car makes no difference.
