Old guy with a lot of toys. supercharged miata nd, Roush mustang 2, motorcycles and my new Stinger base model. Why the base model, I'm going to be making a lot of trips to visit my new grand baby in OK. I love the Stinger looks and have already debadged it, added 19" wheels, spoiler and Injen intake. Looking for the best tuning option and ground effects. The ground effects for a base model is a major PIA. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. I can't find ground effects to fit the North America base model. Already bought and returned three, none would fit my base model. I really, really liked the one from AirDesign. If you have a GT and are looking for ground effects. check it out. A little more expensive but head and shoulders above the rest. Sorry, if this is overboard for a introduction and seems like I'm bragging. Not married and spending money for stuff on my bucket list.

I'd show you the two introductions we got a month or so ago: now those were "overboard" impressive (I would, but I can't remember who wrote them). TL;DR was the effect on most, I reckon. But some of us really appreciate a good intro. Yours is better than most. Welcome to the forum. "Ground effects", hah: haven't heard of clip on lower skirts stuff referred to that way. Spoilers have to go on that plastic hatch lid, right? How can that be anything other than for looks? And I haven't heard of anyone replacing the OE 18" wheels with 19s on the Base trim. Doesn't that mess with the speedometer and settings related thereto? Or did you go with higher aspect ratio tires to keep the same OD?

It’s the same as the guys going from 19s to 20s

Thanks for all the replies. First, yes higher aspect ratio tires and the 19's because I didn't want to experience the ride comfort loose that would come with 20"s. Second, spoiler, wheels and potential ground effects are for looks only but the intake and tune will be for limited performance gains.
I bought the Stinger base model for comfort and travel but of course eventually mod.s will follow.
It appears I'm the only base model owner on the forum if not, please join in and help me find recommended mod.s You know with hind sight always being 20/20 I should have sold the Roush and got a GT. I had no idea I was going to like the Stinger this much!

You could always trade up. There are actually quite a few 2.0L Stinger owners here. What proportion of them are Base trim I have no idea. @rocket23's car is a Base and he loves it.

Hey Chuckyl,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on picking up your new Kia Stinger. I could not agree with you more about how good looking this car is. The design team really outdid themselves on this project. Seems like you have a good head start on some modifications for the car. The Injen Intake is one of my favorite options for this platform. You should definitely check out our Stinger exclusive aftermarkets parts store www.k8stingerstore.com. We have the widest collection of options for your 2.0T and I would be more than happy to hook you up with a new member discount if you shoot me a message.

Hope you are loving the new ride and goodies to go along with it :)

- Daniel
