Is it possible to replace the plastic oil filter housing on the 3.3 with an aluminum one? Anyone done this?

They offer an aluminum replacement for the 3.8l in the Telluride/Palisades. I’ve installed one on the wife’s Telluride and one for a friend. I haven’t found an aluminum replacement for the Stinger yet. The 2 I replaced were leaking. I’d do it on the Stinger as preventative maintenance.

It’s just for preventative maintenance, less likely to leak over the plastic one. Not really a big deal but was wondering if it’s even a thing.

All you've got to do is manufacture one first!

Aluminum housings have their own problems. They can corrode and seize.
Use the right size socket on the filter cap and the plastic housing isn't much of an issue.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I just had my leaking cannister replaced under warranty as well as the turbo oil pipe recall - thankfully all went well!
