Octane Booster Acceptable for Tuning?

...which is great, if you live in an area where it's available. Here it is not. Not remotely worth it to me to make a 2+ hour traffic-bogged round trip to top up the tank with E85. My first stab at a booster product has been Royal Purple Max Boost...just to permit me to run Map 2 daily. In theory this might have me up to 94+ish (92 pump is as good as it gets here), seems to be working so far. Will I gain that much from switching to Torco or Boostane at 2x cost?
Yes, but it probably will be cheaper in the end.

Since you can add different quantities of Boostane you can choose the octane you want. So you can add just a couple oz for 94ish, or add 3-4 for 96ish and run map3 or map5.

Lastly, you can get a 32oz of Boostane Pro for about $30. That will give you 10+ tanks, or only $3 a full-up with even better performance.:thumbup:https://www.amazon.com/BOOSTane-Pro...d=1553395701&s=gateway&sr=8-1&srs=14115221011

Ah... much cheaper overall, didn't understand that so little went so far. Next stop Amazon (... again...) thanks

Interesting.. And 5 gallons (640 oz) is only $400.. That's approx 33% cheaper / oz. 640 oz, 4oz / tank = 160 tanks, maybe 3-4 years? :-)

I just got the JB4 and switched out my spark plugs last night with a .024 gap. I am trying to decide which map to run, unfortunately I live in Utah where the best gas is 91 octane, but I really want to run map 2. Would using an octane booster with the 91 be acceptable? Or would it cause issues?
I have a kia 2021 gt2 with high flow cat down pipes, mid pipe delete and cat back system. I installed a larger intercooler with enjen cold air intake. I also have the big mouth snorkel behind my grill. I installed the better spark plugs with. 024 gap. I use the jb4 with 93 octane. However I've Had issues with the check engine light. I think for the octane available I would start with map 1. I'm just letting you know from my experience. With the map 2 and high flow down pipes I'm making 19.62 pounds of boost on the dyno with 538 hp at the motor. But I've been dealing with the engine light. I use map 1 and I make 17.86 pounds of boost car runs great with no engine light. Hope that helps buddy.
