• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

IFO (Import Face Off) is at Pacific Raceways in Kent Washington 8-26. Discount tickets to drag Race or car show are only $25 pre order and $17 for spectators. Car show is huge. Drag racing is bracket race or just test n tune. Super easy for beginners. Lets get some Stingers out there!
I can show people the ropes or write up a how to drag at PR paragraph if anyone is interested.

Drag Race 101 at Pacific Raceways:

- Wear long pants and shoes
- When / if you hit the 12's you will need a helmet (for the next run)
- There is a building/store back before the starting line where you need to sign a waiver and get a drivers wristband. (You also get a different wrist band when you enter)
- Fill out the tech inspection form (that you got when you entered) and take it and your car to tech inspection. Tech inspection is on the long curve that leads to the starting line. There is always a car there and a sign. Here they will ask if you want to Test N Tune or Bracket race
- There will be a drivers meeting before racing begins at the bottom of the tower that they will announce. Walk there.
- Test in tune you just run at the same time as the person next to you, not a race per se.
- Bracket racing, you get a couple test runs to find your estimated time. You put that time or slightly lower on your window. When you race the slower car gets a head start that is equal to the difference in the two cars ETs. Who ever crosses the finish first wins, given you didn't red light or didn't run below your estimated time. Reaction time is not reflected in your ET but a faster reaction time will get you to the finish line first for the win. For bracket racing its all about reaction time and consistency.
Racing:
No need to do a burn out with street tires. If you have RWD and can power brake a burn out go for it. Or just drive around the wet spot and keep your tires dry. Track has lots of grip. AWDs wont even chirp and stock RWDs should hook up great as well. Tuned RWDs get tricky.
When they wave you forward go around the water and wait. They will waive you forward again to Stage. The smaller two yellow lights at the top are pre stage and stage. Pre stage means you are 1 foot from the starting line. Staged means you are there. Once both cars are staged the lights will start with in about a second. Hit the gas (or release the break if you are using launch control) on the last yellow light. This should get you a .1 - .2 reaction time. Anticipate the last yellow and you will hit close to 0 or red light. If you wait to see the Green your reaction time will be .4-.5 seconds. Don't start launch control until BOTH cars are staged, or your LC will timeout.
You have a 1/4 mile to slow down after the finish line. There are two turn outs on the right, may as well go all the way to the end. Loop around and get your slip at the booth. Wipe grin off face and go again. If you haven't tried it, the adrenaline rush is much larger than you would expect especially on close races. I lost a few weeks back by .001 seconds. Should have left my car manual at home.

Looks like the track knows the stingers are fast now. So probably need a helmet on the first run. Snell SA10 or SA15 if you have a 3.3 L.

I guess i am going still since i got tickets a few weeks back. Since then my massive paint chip case has been denied. So lost my will to spread the KIA love. I may test and tune or may do the car show and show off my cool paint job! (Still bummed as you can tell)

For IFO I'll be racing my GLA45 AMG matte gray - in case i smoke you off the line :) Don't want to do any more free KIA advertising in front of the hundreds of import enthusiasts until KIA honors their paint warranty.

Two Stingers. Made it to IFO. Me and Tork Motorsports. We both broke records for RWD and AWD. Tork ran a 11.98 and me a 12.44.
Couple hundred cars in the cars show but no Stingers. Lame showimg for KIA but the announcer loves seeing these near stock cars running 12s and beating most other cars.
