This weekend took the stinger out for a drive, only have 20000km on the clock. I noticed some clunking from the rear passenger so i managed to get it to my workplace as i have space there to jack it up and have a look....

The rear passenger upper control arm has completely snapped off.....no idea how this happened. I just got new tires like 2 weeks ago and got it serviced 1 week ago AT Kia and no one saw it or noticed it. The amount of forced need to do this would be insane i would think so maybe it was weak from factory???

Thing that gets me is there is nothing else around the part that is damaged, its like it just snapped, the wheel is perfectly fine (no damage). Its a very strange breakage.

My guess is that part somehow slipped past quality control and the defect finally gave way. Odd indeed

This is the only thing i can think, its a 2021 model but i havent done that many KMs.

Kinda incredible.

Let us know how warranty deals with it

Unicorn! Has any other case of a "snapped" suspension part been brought up on the forum? If so, I missed it. Defective part is the most likely explanation, and it should be easy to fix: fast?, maybe not so much.

Got it towed to Kia and they confirmed that the part simply....failed. Now i just have to wait for them to get the part, installation is fast though (1-2hrs).

Meanwhile, search for crashed Stingers. That part has a high likelihood of being available on a crashed one: you could find it faster than it takes to get a new one, and you'll be proactively doing something besides stewing while you wait (which could be days, weeks, months  ). If the dealership winds up with a brand new upper control arm, they can keep it or send it back. (All of the above is just what I would be thinking if this were my issue.)

Yikes, glad I replaced mine with the Megan arms after seeing this.
