Hey everyone! I’m new here. My apologies if I placed this post in the wrong area.

Yesterday, I purchased a 2019 Stinger Base with 12K miles on it. Carfax looked great. The dealership is a well known place in my town.

After buying it, I went back to work. About 4-5 hours later, I took it out and noticed a faint squealing noise when the AC is on and I turn the wheel. I turned the car again to hear the noise and my girl says something just splashed on her foot. At this point, every time I turn the wheel, more liquid is coming from the console and soaking the floorboard. I smelled the liquid and the smell wasn’t too strong but I think it is coolant. Checked the coolant and it’s indeed low.

My buddy (reputable mechanic) says it sounds like the heater core and he says if they have to remove the dash, it’s never the same. Has anyone had this issue? I’m pissed to say the least. I can’t help but think they had to have known. I’m not sure how they couldn’t have known considering how quickly I experienced this.

I’m not sure what to do at this point. 2019 with 12k miles and I’m having this issue day 1, makes me really hesitant to keep the vehicle.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've been on the forum for a couple years and this is the first failure like this I've heard of. It's definitely up to the dealer to make this right, I'd even consider using a return policy if they have one, many dealers offer a 30 day policy like that. You could give them the opportunity to make it right and see where that gets you.

I agree with @NS_Stinger
If you bought it just yesterday I would take it back asap and give them a chance to make it right. With 12K miles on it, it should be a CPO. If the dealership says anything to the tune of "not my problem", I would call KMA.

That's a horrible situation. It's possible the dealership didn't know about the problem, if the car was traded in during colder months when the AC wasn't in use. But if it's a CPO the AC/Heater should have been checked.

First, let the dealership verify what the problem is. If it involves removing the dash I would check out the return policy and try to get rid of it.

If the solution to the problem doesn't involve removing large interior pieces I would let them repair it and provide me with an adequate loaner.

Check your heat - make sure it blows hot when engine is warmed up. Check your coolant level too.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The standard warranty should apply 5yr/60K, take it to a KIA dealer for repair. I figure if you take it back to CarFax, they will reach out to KIA for the parts or most likely take it to KIA.

I don't think that's his concern. He had the car for under 24 hours when this began. And he's been informed of the pitfalls of having to remove large interior trim pieces (think "future rattle trap").

I'd return it and let the next buyer deal with any bodged repair. I wouldn't want a vehicle that had been molested by Kia "service"..

Even mine doesn't have that problem. It has other problems but no liquid splashing from the console lol. Take it back, you didn't pay for a car with problems. I did, but I knew what I was getting into. Somewhat

:eek::poop:
Back and look for another one. Let "them" deal with this one.
