Hey all, I am new to the stinger world and purchased a 19 GT2 2 weeks ago. One thing I’ve noticed is complete lack of power, I went and test drove a few others and this car is not fast??? I thought maybe it was fuel, cheaper dealership. I’ve now gone through a few fill ups with 93, still no change. Sport mode is certainly more responsive but I did a 0-60 pull early this morning 55degress low humidity, and I got 6.44. I did a video a week ago, counted it out from launch to 60, roughly the same. The car does have injen intakes and an oil catch, installed by previous owner. Not sure if it has more. But this does not compare, launch mode….feels slower than my 21 2.0t wrangler on 35s. Anything I should check? Boost on the factory gauge it’s maybe 8-10psi, but I know this car has more in it. I can’t even get a slight break in traction??? Help me

For help, please post a log (csv) of a WOT pull and more than likely we can find what wrong (if there is) :)

I’m not sure how to do this?

Make sure that you do a launch correctly. If you don't do WOT, to the floor, you will not see "launch control active". Just seeing "launch control ready" does not mean LC is engaged, you have to see "active" too.

Other than that, I've got nothing. It doesn't sound like "limp mode", and 19s don't suffer from that unless a mod is causing it somehow. How old are your plugs and coils?

I double checked and did a launched this morning. The screen says launch control ready then I let off the brake. It says active again 0 to 60 time 6.3 seconds which could be off slightly but I wouldn’t think one and a half seconds or more. I have no check engine lights. Everyone tells me the boost that I’m seeing is correct for factory at 8 to 10 psi me. It’s almost like there’s a boost leak. If I get the chance today, I should go through the intake and make sure everything’s buttoned on and tight.

I'm sorry, I assumed you had a JB4. What fuel are you using?

Solenoid I was once told this is known to go bad in turbo engines. I had the problem you had. Changed it. Boost is back 20psi non stock with jb4. Same goes as to stock map had the max of 8 -10 pounds of boost. So a fellow friend told me there is nothing to loose if you give it a try and since then I run full power. You see this oem part near the passenger side diverter valve. It has the part number and it looks like the one posted above. From there you can check for other stuff we will assist you with.

This is Max boost I’m seeing, that’s normal?

Had the same problem. Try. You’ll get more advice after you eliminate that the solenoid is the cause.

Take it back to the dealership you got it from. Stock turbos should be somewhere around 14psi stock. Based on that picture you’re getting less than 10psi total. Your 0-60 should be ~4.6 seconds, max, with those conditions and 93 octane, especially with Injen intakes.

Maybe the catchcan is faulty?

Something definitely isn’t right, check to see if there are any codes, get a cheap OBDII connector and see if anything is popping up.

Hopefully this helps, hopefully you get it fixed!

Only issue is dealership is 3.5 hours away!

The P0299 code indicates an issue with your vehicle's turbocharger or supercharger, specifically an underboost condition. The code is triggered when the ECU detects that the boost pressure is too low, which can be caused by a number of components and conditions:
  • Air restriction or leak in the intake
  • Binding turbocharger
  • Faulty pressure sensor
  • Sticking VGT vanes
  • Variable geometry turbocharger actuator
  • Fault EGR system
  • Restricted air filter
  • Blocked catalytic converter
  • Exhaust leaks
