I'm in the market for a new GT2 in Ceramic Silver with Red interior. Searched extensively the last 2 weeks. None are available in the Texas area. And the dealers are telling me that Kia is not making any more of the 2019 model year (at least in that color combo) and I need to wait for the 2020 model which has no ETA. Anyone else hearing this?

Iirc, the MY18 was finished in June. Everything made after that was MY19. Probably the same this year. I'm not surprised that you are having difficulty finding Ceramic Silver: that was apparently the most popular MY19 color.

Thanks. I hope I do not have to wait till June 2020. Typically, car manufacturers release next MY in the summer of the previous year. So would have expected the 2020 to already be here.

MY20 is now available here in OZ, the only MY19’s that would be available would be ex-demos or old unsold stock.

My19s didn't arrive in showrooms last year in the US till October. Again, iirc.

My MY20 was built May 2019, compliance in Australia in July 2019, delivered early September 2019.

So certainly they weren't making MY19s any more in July. How quickly they're getting to the US and then to dealerships may well depend on what stock levels of MY19 (and even MY18) cars still are at the dealerships and holding yards - Kia will want to clear the market of old stock as much as possible before they have too many MY20s available.

What this means is that if you're after a particular colour/trim combo, you'll have to either go find one that's already in country, or wait for an MY20 to ship in that combination.

This sounds about right, the MY20s should be out at anytime now, best time to get a good deal on a MY19.

The MY2020 will be out relatively soon. However, there are so many MY19 and even MY18 cars on lots that it will take them some time to clear those out.

I suspect that right around Christmas they will have some pretty massive incentives to get rid of these cars.

I track the cars.com inventory of Stinger GT2s all across the US. The total number of those cars is still increasing so that is an indication that MY19 cars are still being produced.

The MY20s have already arrived in Canada. It's not up on the website, but dealerships are listing them.

Thanks! Good to know. I'll keep checking locally.

There were 2019s in the US long before you saw any on dealer lots. They need to build up inventory and also decide when enough prior model year vehicles have been sold.
