That's taking some of the surface area from your intercooler. You might want to reconsider.

Yeah I to would be concerned about blocking air flow to the intercooler looks good though

Not a bad option for someone I guess. Not worth it for me if just lowering it a few insches but blocking some of the airflow to the intercooler as mentioned. I think if someone is interested the tow hook LP bracket seems to be a good option. But to each their own.

Which of the two mounts is shown in the pictures above, @Kia Stinger ? Neither of the ebay pictures seems like the same mount. Thanks.

UPDATE: Looks like the mesh version.

Yes, sir - the mesh mount is the one pictured...

Thanks! I figured out that the bracket pics are just opposite how they have it on the site, which makes sense as you can install it anyway you want.

I have one of these on order and will post pics when I have it. It is pricey, but the towhook mounts look silly and may block parking sensors. And I'm not drilling into the bumper! Airflow to the intercooler? It won't block enough to matter, air will get around it. It's all about compromises!

An innercooler mesh mount that would angle upwards towards the front bumper and not block the innercooler would be nice ... make the arms of it gloss black and stylized.

That is the same one I got for my Stinger lol Sly Bracket is what it is called on Ebay.

I absolutely refuse to block the airflow with a front plate! So... I covered the back of the plate with a soft cloth - and rolled it (pictures available on my profile). Used bendable wire to affix to the lower grill. It's secure and completely readable this way.
I am also considering reproducing the plate in vinyl and placing it in the area designed for a plate. It will be slightly smaller than issued by the DMV - but certainly bigger than a motorcycle plate. db

I just left mine off the front. I drove my G8 for ten years and never got stopped. If I do and they ask, I'll tell them that the car didn't come with a front tag bracket and I'm trying to find one. Always keep your front plate in the car somewhere so you can prove you aren't running "split" tags on two different cars. Most cops will only give you a warning, not a citation.

My son got a ticket for no front plate on his dodge neon. First time ever pulled over and $105. Depends on who you get pulled over by.

Front plates are useless. In my state, trucks of 3/4 ton or larger with hitches are exempt from a rear plate and allowed to run front plates only. As a former sheriff deputy I can tell you it's damn hard to see a license plate in the front when trying to stop a vehicle from behind.....and you don't stop them from the front unless you're an idiot.

How about this tow-hook option?? Just wondering about any sensors it may block?

I bought this exact one and tried to put it on my 2020 Stinger GT but I don't think the tow bar is long enough. I screwed it all the way into the tow hook and attached the mount and license plate and it's touching my car, (scratched the bumper with one of the license plate screws because I'm an idiot). Am I installing it wrong? Is there a piece of hardware that I'm missing? This is driving me nuts.

It should have had a spacer...

I took spacer off and it did not touch (looked better). Now I don't need it at all - Ohio eliminated front plates starting in August ;)

It didn't come with a spacer and I don't believe they normally do?

Sorry for the "Thread Necro," but I'm on the hunt for such a front-plate holder for my recently acquired Stinger.

While I think the tow hook idea is grand, I wonder if anyone has done an analysis on how bad of an interruption putting a plate over ~20% of your FMIC is to overall performance. For that reason alone, I'm thinking that if I do go the 'tow hook mount' route, I might see if there's a way to make some kind of extension arm that extends from the tow hook over to center and holds the plate mount there.

If I were to swing it on an arm like that, traveling at speed or just driving through a car wash would undoubtedly push the plate carrier to tap against the bumper (repeatedly), causing much of the very same damage one would like to prevent. (Sadly, my dealer already did a number on the paint under my rear plate -- at least that's always going to be invisible.)

It seems like KIA really intended the plate to go smack-dab in the center. From what I can tell, it's the only place it won't really obstruct airflow over the FMIC or the Radiator or a sensor.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, though...

What's the latest word and/or collective wisdom on the best, non-invasive front license plate mounts?
