Nightmare Kia service ruining the ownership experience of my beloved Stinger GT2

Heh, you just outed yourself as a redditor. :) Call AGNY. You've dicked around with these people long enough.

You might also try blowing them up on socials like twitter/fb/etc. Both Kia and the dealer. People tend to want to quiet bad publicity like that pretty fast. I'd go to the AG first though.
This.

The AGNY is who you should be contacting. They may be more sympathetic especially since they reached a $164K settlement with Nemet Kia for deceptive practices just last year. Repairing your car under the assumption it is a warranty issue and then charging you for the repair fits the definition of deceptive practices. If necessary, you can take them to small claims court. But in the meantime you may have to pay to get your car back if you want to drive it now. I'm not sure lemon laws apply to a payment dispute even though you are in the right.

I thought that too. This will be an unfair business practices complaint.

Once when visiting my in-laws our wagon was demonstrating tranny issues and I took it to a mechanic to look at. A couple of days before we were to leave for home I called about progress and got the run around; the gist of which was that I couldn't have my car yet; I said forget the work just give me my car and they said "No can do, we'll get to it later". My father-in-law got on the phone and threatened a lawyer if they didn't return my car to me pronto. They said come and get it, then. We drove over there and my car was behind three rows of parked vehicles. They had no intention of getting to it anytime soon!? I had told them I was from out of town, so any work on it should have been expedited. The lawyer threat, from a doctor, worked the trick and they moved the vehicles out of the way and I got my car back.

You guys have guns don't you?:D.

I can't believe the anxt these dealers are putting you guys through. As I've said before I've heard barely anything to do with brake problems here. Surely it must be the compound Kia has supplied to the USA for the Stinger?

This won't help in OP's case, but when I had a disagreement with my dealer over a warranty issue on my previous Kia I just paid and took my car and left. Then I called Kia Customer Service and brought it up with them. It took a little back and forth and sending them my evidence, but at the end of the day Kia sent me a check for way more money than I paid to the dealer

I found this process a lot easier than getting Customer Service and the dealer to come to an agreement. Of course the risk is you don't get anything from Kia and are SOL. It's just something to consider when dealing with a less than helpful service department.
