Hey guys, this isn't my video i just stumbled across it on youtube. Apologize if it has been posted before I looked and didn't see it. I don't want to spoil anything for you peeps that haven't watched it.

I just saw that last night on the tube, I would still pick the AWD for the city I live in.

Yeah I mean even at the end they said for practical around town daily driving, awd the way to go. If I lived somewhere with inclement weather i'd definitely have strongly considered awd since i'll spend far more time on the road, than on the track.

Kia never advertised AWD as a performance enhancer. A option for better traction in regions where AWD would be a necessity.

400lbs between the AWD and RWD, I thought I read it was around 100-200lbs.

I read 181 pound difference in the two. The driver even said he didn't push the AWD to the limit because he didn't have the confidence in it, of course there will be a big difference in times.

Good video but I wish they did quarter mile runs in each with a vbox. The awd should do better off the line and have a better 0 to 60 but the rwd version will start to gaining on the awd version in the quarter mile. The rwd version might have a slightly slower time but I'll bet it has a higher trap speed.

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking?

Unless the RWD has traction issues in stock form on launch (which I don’t think it does) the AWD won’t give an advantage. If I remember right road and track ran times for both the AWD and RWD and the AWD was slower in every test.

EDIT: Sorry it was Car and Driver

In a straight line drag race with good race track prep, of course the lighter car will win.

...maybe if there's snow, water, mud, sand, or gravel on the track.
