Hi all,

Just picked up a used 2018 GT1 in Panthera Metal with 54k miles, absolutely in love.

Service records looked good with regular 5k oil changes and tires and breaks on a regular basis. Hoping to keep it a good long time.

Any cautions I should know about? Things to keep an eye out for?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger! I'm glad you found us. :) What did the Stinger replace for you?

Thanks for the welcome!

Came from a 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD. Was getting on in years and miles plus wanted to get a little money out of trading it in.

Stinger feels like an upgrade in every way!

The Ford Fusion is nice, especially in Titanium form. But I'm glad to hear you're seeing the Stinger as an upgrade. It really is in pretty much all aspects. Looks, fun to drive factor, performance... I'm sure you'll get some input from the community but there's lots of reading to do around here if you're interested. :)

Hey ErathornIxen,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Stinger!

It sounds like you found a completely untouched, perfect example.

I suggest on every turbo car that you get a catch-can system to keep your oil clean and prolong the life of your Stinger!

We offer a few options at the K8 Stinger Store, let me know if you are interested and I can help you out with a little discount.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

It's been touched at least a little bit, still trying to sniff out everything the previous owner did. Intakes are obvious, the tune and some other items are in question.

No Oil catch can that I can see so I will have to look into that, thanks for the suggestion!

'brakes on a regular basis'? you mean the brakes or pads have been replaced already? that's not a lot of miles for pads although they can definitely be used up a lot quicker than 54,000 miles.

Two records for pads, one record for rotors on all 4 corners at about 40k. All from original dealer. Likely somebody struggling with the break pulsing thing. Sofar I haven't felt it but I know it will probably come around and I'll have to swap the pads.

If they start pulsing do you need to have the rotors re-surfaced along with new pads or will just new aftermarket pads fix it up?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

you can test this by doing a rebedding of current pads to current rotors. if hard braking from high speed smooths out the 'shudder' noticeably, then the rotors are not crapped out with pad deposits requiring resurfacing.
