New to the stinger forum. I purchased a 2018 Stinger GT2 AWD about 4 months ago. It is blue with the gray interior. I love the car. I am starting to do some small modifications to the car to make it mine, but it is still under warranty, so no serious mods yet.
I have K&N filters, rebadged, door strike covers, things like that, but this will be the first real mod to the car.

I recently purchased a rear spoiler for my car. It is not a rear lip spoiler. I will have to drill through the trunk to mount this one. It looks great mocked up.( see pic attached, sorry it was dark)

Here is the issue I have a question about. The trunk / hatchback lid is plastic, and with how aggressive the spoiler is, it will cause the lid to flex. I will have access to the mounting points from under the trunk area, and that area is metal, but fairly thin.

So what advise do you have, other than getting a lip spoiler, to shore up the plastic area.
I can weld if needed to make a bracket that would shore it up, but not sure on how to remove the plastic hatchback top lid.

looks kind of cool. looking forward to the finished product and some daytime pics. I have no idea how to install it though. I believe drilling through the metal will be enough though. Keep us posted.

Looks fairly big, probably a good call to reinforce it (especially if you plan on ever going at a high rate of speed). Since you can get under the trunk lid, maybe just a long narrow piece of aluminum to help reinforce would work. You could also try a large washer and a smaller one over that with the mounting bolt. Anything that will help distribute the weight across more surface area.

As for your question on the decklid. Once you remove the interior plastic around the glass it will be super obvious for you. You need to start the trim removal under the 3rd brake light area first. How they are laid out its the best way to do it without damage
There are multiple screws that hold the decklid on. There are 2 hidden ones as well, under the outside strikes on the hatch.
Now most importantly and frustrating is the 3m tape that runs along the bottom of the window attaching the decklid. If you start on one end and slowly pry up with a trim tool. It will start to separate.

There are also a few YouTube vids on the removal. Feel free to pm me if you need more in depth info on the removal of the decklid.

Also dont really think you would get a lot of movement from the wing installed. The deck lid it pretty "solid". Yes plastic but still feels pretty decent.

Nice job, how much sight loss out the back? Not that was a lot to begin with.

There are several sway bar companies. It all just depends on preference of brand and your end want for adjustment and so on.

To answer the question on visibility out the back it cuts the rear by a third right through the middle!
Works great and very solid.
Not saying that it would hold up to 120+, but… it does!

I will take some more pics from further away this week outside.
