Hi guys after owning a 2015 wrx and wanting a stinger since the day it was revealed I finally found one local. Sold my wrx and long story short i got my hands on a 2018 gt1 for a very good price. The car looks almost brand new but has almost 150k on it. I was a mechanic for over 10 years so i know a decent bit about stuff but is there any advice on what to look into? I ran a carfax and my car has had oil changed religously and at 110k had spark plugs and transmission flush. I plan on jumping on diff fluid changes asap and long term possibly rebuilding the engine etc. Thoughts? Sorry for the book =]

Also it only had one owner and it was a older woman so heres hoping she wasnt out thrashing the sh*t out of it for 147k miles

welcome, holy cow thats a lot of miles. there are a lot of smart people on this forum that can help you with whatever. i, however, "are" not one of them LOL good luck and have fun.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I'm sure the car was babbied.

Hey kingvegaGT!

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Stinger!

Even though the mileage is high, the previous owner probably just used it as a work commuter, hence the good condition! I've seen a good bit of Stinger owners in the 100k mileage area and the reports are positive for reliability.

If you're looking to add even more performance and style to your Stinger, we offer some great products.

You can view all of our available aftermarket or OEM products on our website at www.K8StingerStore.com!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like a discount on your order!

Enjoy your new ride!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger! It sounds like it was owned and maintained by a responsible person, so I'm confident there a long life ahead for your Stinger. How are you liking it compared to the Subaru WRX? I'm glad you found us...

I have a 2018 gt1 too, with half as many miles as yours. and I have already have my sparkplugs changed at c. 45,000 miles. if your car ran the original plugs as long as you say that was some run! kia recommends the first plugs be changed at 42,000 miles, and Ima guessing that the same is every about 42,000 miles. sounds like you have a good trouble free stinger, which bodes well for the future.

Well the wrx had around 20k miles and my stinger with 7x more miles runs and fuctions better. My wrx had terrible intereor in comparison and with just light mods the car had knock events and DAM drops. Performance wise the stinger even heavier feels more nimble and of course much faster. I couldnt be happier with my stinger.

I was figuring i would do another set of plugs here soon. I called my kia dealer about a transmission flush and they want almost 400$ and the differentials they said they had no idea they've never done them? Which is a tad troubling.

I'd be calling other kia dealers and find one that knows and does flushes. 'troubling' is right, with many dealerships, easily a third of kia's dealerships return unsatisfactory service and that's putting it politely.

Isn't it amazing that a Kia is this good? Plus you've got creature comforts that are hard to beat...

I have a 2018 GT1 that just turned 64K. I'm the 3rd owner and I changed the plugs when I added my JB4. Guessing one of the previous owners also had a tuner because I pulled out Denso Step 1 plugs out of the car. I was getting a misfire which turned out to be a bad plug (plugs coming out didn't look gapped correctly) so if your Stinger still had the factory plugs, I wouldn't expect the little old lady that owned it before you was out dragging people stop light to stop light.
Welcome aboard!
