Hi All,

I am new with this JB4 stuff and thinking about getting one. I did some research in the forum but want to get some more clarification.

My questions are what gas is required for each map. Would I be able to run map 3 on 93 with HKS plugs or do I need e85. I do not have any e85 stations really that close to me. It seems like map 2 you can just run on 93 but wondering what map 3 requires?

Would it be bad to run 93 on map 3 in the long term?

Noob questions but look forward to hearing some answers.

There is a writeup (I believe on this forum) that shows what each map level is for.

Map 1 = plugs + 91 octane
Map2 = plugs + 93 octane
Map 3 = plugs + mixed gas

Every car is a little different in regards to tuning, but map 3 will likely damage things long term if you run it on 93 gas.

Awesome thanks. It’s interesting seems like people have a different take on map 3. I have heard some running 93 on map 3 fine but it seems like the proper way is to do 5 or 4 gallons of e85 then 93

It depends on how "good" your locally available 93 fuel is on how well you can run map 3. I'm in GA and I was able to run map 3 just fine on 93. I'm not on E30 and I run map 5 just fine.

Good to know. Have you encountered any issues doing 93 with map 3 and above? Any noticeable wear and tear on the parts?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Not to my knowledge. You definitely shouldn't try anything above map 3 on just 93 fuel though. By map 4 you'll definitely want to be on an E30 blend.

As stated, it ultimately comes down to your car. The JB4 will prevent you from hitting thresh-holds that will cause immediate catastrophic damage the question is in long term damage

You can always run map 2, post your logs, and run map 3 and post logs and then terry or someone can chime in if you are getting too lean, etc.
