Looking at buying a 2018 stinger gt or a 2018 S4. Wondering how the stinger holds up after mods. Can the rest of the drive train handle the extra HP/TRQ?

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Check out our performance section. You'll see LOTS of discussion to answer your questions there...

Howdy. I'm not a modder. But I read a lot on here, and very few "incidents" connected to mods have I seen. In fact, I've seen about as many reports of stock Stingers having issues as modded ones. I'm not talking about minor glitchy things, but what I think you're concerned about: actually catastrophic failures in the drivetrain.

The reason for the robustness of the Stinger as a modding platform, I'm thinking, is that Kia underrated the torque and horsepower numbers and tuned this car conservatively; of course, that would go along with their confidence in the 100,000 mile warranty.
