Hello Community,

Nice to be here. Great to see so many folks excited about this platform and it's potential. I aim next year 2025, to start an extensive build, based on the following:

Tri-turbo build (pure turbo upgrades on stock turbos x2) adding in a Garrett GTX5533R Gen II. Aiming for uprated stock turbos running, 26 psi. The new big turbo, will be ran independently through manual boost control, allowing me to utilize the stingers ecu to calculate (after new flashing of course) for the new hp rating (running at 32 psi) 58 psi total, being the output, I obviously will build the bottom and top of the engine to be as close to a tank as possible.

I will reduce weight, add aero, add adjustable suspension, add body strengthening, level 10 1200hp transmission build, add coolers, get a custom flywheel 3d printed or custom cnc, custom carbon drives shaft, lightweight rims, bigger tires. New ecu/tcu flash, use of Mando. I also aim to utilize WMI/NOS (wet 2-stage progressive system) to add to this build. Going for a true jack of all trades super sleeper.

Will also do electrical mods for awd/rwd switch, etc. I will add several visual mods, mostly interior work. Doing a full build, targeting to set new world records. I have $60k ready to start this journey, and can do atleast 70% of this work myself. Have most of my build done on paper, know most of my parts, now it's time to do community research as well.

I am to push this car to the limits of her max engineering potential.I am mechanically inclined, have built 3 cars prior, grew up working on cars, I am an engineer and a cyber security professional who can program. I have so many unique ideas instore for this, even usuing AI in cabin. See you all out on the road!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I’m glad you found us. What did the Stinger replace for you? It looks like you’ve got big plans ahead and I’m sure many will be watching to see how things come along.

The Stinger didn't replace, it's a toy purchase purely. Hence, why I am so excited about taking on this build. My DD is a 300 Sport, Family Vehicle is a telluride, I've also driven an 86 fox body 5.0(500hp), a 1995 240sx with a diesel turbo from a big rig, 36 psi, 750hp (car tried to kill you everytime your drove it), and a bunch of commuters over the years.

Pretty cool. That Fox body must have been quick (light) and the 240SX certainly sounded interesting! You should add your new project to "Cars Connected". It's only a website at the moment but iOS and Android apps are about a month away...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
lol, yes, but will we see you? WAAAaaa ... there it goes, what was that?
Yes, if you can keep up, lol. I did some advanced math with the help of AI, and looking towards this build that can do 0-60 in 2.8s and top speed of 232mph. Will take this lady to a whole new performance bracket. Keeping body as stock as possible for that true sleeper feel.

I do love a good sleeper. I’ve had a few over the years…

Do tell on your previous sleepers! :)
Well, I'll be brief. It all started with a 1989 Camaro RS V6 which I swapped a Corvette L98 engine and transmission into. It made a big difference and beat up on some pretty impressive cars during that time. Next up came a long while later - a 2007 BMW 335i with JB4 tuner and a few supporting mods. It ran mid/high 12s. Next was a 2000 Audi S4 that I did quite a bit of modding to. It had 600 horsepower and weighed 3000 pounds. It ran high 10s. Last was a 2010 E63 AMG that I did a bunch of modding to and that had almost 900hp. It ran low 10s. It was a mixture of Weistec and Renntech.

Hey @turpinb1147,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Stinger.

This build sounds like it will be very impressive, and I am highly interested in following along.

Let me know how I can help you.

get a custom flywheel 3d printed
adding in a Garrett GTX5533R Gen II
stock turbos running, 26 psi.
The new big turbo running at 32 psi
58 psi total
Can we see your Stinger, the GTX5533R, or an example of a 3D printed flywheel?

Hasn't been built yet, I'm more curious about how the block is going to be built and what will be used to keep the head from lifting.

So here are my thoughts so far:
Block Strengthening Techniques

I want to strengthen the block a shitton (if necessary I may get a billet block machined custom for it).

Main Cap Girdle and webs, Install a billet steel main cap girdle, webs, to for increased rigidity. Can reduce bottom end flex under high load.

Fully Forged internals.

Deck Plate Honing, Block Filler into water jackets, increases block rigidity significantly.

Cylinder Sleeves, custom ductile iron cylinder sleeves to fit. Will Provide better stability and strength than stock cylinders and an uprated/larger bore sizes as well.

ARP Main Studs, 1/2", Provides more clamping force and reduces stretching, critical consideration, for the level of HP I want to achieve.

Custom Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket, custom thickness for desired compression ratio.

Custom pins, for a top ring groove Mod to lower top ring closer to piston crown, reduces pressure on the head
Custom windage tray, Improves oil control and bottom end strength.

This will be most of the custom work needed, I'll get aftermarket parts if they are available for other mods, such as exhaust, suspension, etc. Right now that my plan for the block. I think this would support 1400-1600hp, strength wise.

Ok now I know we're in fantasy land...does the Stinger itself exist, even in stock form?
Yes, enjoy a 2022 Stinger GT2 AWD, put 36k miles on her so far. Yes fantasy land for sure, it's a dream build, so sky's the limit. It'll be cheaper to engine swap by a long mile, but I want to see what something like a crazy build can do on this platform.
