Time to purchase new tires for my 2021 Stinger gt line and would prefer Michelin or comparison with 60k warranty.
I would like the widest and tallest tire for the 18" wheel without tire rubbing. Want a smooth comfortable ride not a sporty hard ride.
Is a 245 R18 or a 235 R18 the way to go?
Thanks

245 should be fine on a rim 8" wide. as for going taller sidewall, why? that will just mess with the speedometer. stay the same od. michelin does not have a 60 thousand miles warranty. nitto does though.

I have no complaints about the tires/sizes in my sig. I may go with a 45 profile next time. It will make the speedo more accurate (relative to gps) and add a bit more comfort.

I'm actually looking to replace the stock 225/45/18 tires with 245/40/18 ones - is the speedo and ride comfort that noticeably different compared to the stock size?

Granted, the stock tires that came with the car are not that great so I realize it's not a straight comparison, but I was also looking into the DWS06 Plus or AS 4's like you have.

I can't say honestly. The stock bridgestones re97as-02's were on the car for less than 500 miles. They were utter crap in every imaginable way.

In terms of speedo accuracy, they too were off by about 1 mph at 60 per gps. That is, speedo showed 60, gps showed 59mph. I'm getting roughly the same error with the as4's in the size shown. When tire shopping, i didn't directly compare sizes in terms of advertised size, rather I looked at revs/mile. There is too much variance in revs/mi with tires even of the same advertised size.

I don't recall the numbers exactly, but the difference was less than 10 revs/mile iirc.

Some people like the DWS06+ too, supposedly they're very close to the as4's but slightly cheaper. I've been using michelin tires for nearly 2 decades, and across multiple vehicle types (see left), so a bit of brand loyalty and positive experience, at least with their performance or semi-performance tires.

In terms of comfort, the as4's are not extremely harsh, but you do get lots of feedback.

We'll see what's available when the next tire change comes around (few years), may try the dws's, may go with the as5 or as6.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
