Just traded in my 2016 optima sxl for a 2018 stinger GT1. Located in Oklahoma, very familiar with Kias and their problems. I know this year comes with problems, but if you have any advice or tips (other than basic maintenance) to extend her lifetime further it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger! Nice upgrade from the 2016 Optima. I'm glad you found us. :)

Hey Skuvk!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new to you 18' Stinger GT1! Thats a huge step up from the Optima for sure!

I actually own an 18' GT1 AWD in Micro Blue, shes currently at 54k miles and i havent had a single major issue with the car yet! So, dont believe that the first model year cars have tons of issues, they dont!

2018 and 2019 stingers here, no 'problems' with those years. individual vehicles come with their own quirks. for instance in the '19 premium, with rain sensing wipers, the cover plate above the rear view mirror will not stay in place. I've pushed it in hard all the way around and felt the clicks of the clips. a day, two, three later, the cover plate is in the cup holder or on the passenger seat again, lol. I finally taped it in place with scotch multitask tape. another quirk on the '19, the left taillight assembly works a little bit loose on the outer end. the prongs, there are two of them, seem fine and I tighten the philips screw down firmly but the assembly still works loose. I just use the palm of my hand and push it back in and it stays for days. the '18 gt1 has its own one or two minor quirks like that too. I roll with them. premium has 30,000 miles, gt1 has over 63,000 miles. other than obvious advice, like keep them clean inside and out, including the bottom during winter, and regular oil changes and the rest, there isn't anything 'special' to keeping a stinger.
