Hello everyone. First post intro...

Just purchased a Kia Stinger GT1. We turned in an Optima Hybrid at the end of the lease, and the wife fell in love with the Stinger.

Ours is the Pearl White with red interior. So far we love it.

We have a couple other sports oriented cars we daily. I drive a 535d M Sport and I can see how Kia was aiming for the m sport as a target. It's a pretty similar setup with the drive modes, etc. The 535d is down on HP (295) but has gobs of torque (460). The D gets 40 MPG combined. The D has a twin turbo I6.

We also have a C6 corvette for weekends.

We like powerful cars and so far the Kia does not disappoint.

Look forward to learning for about the Stinger and the community.

I am in a similar situation. I have had my car for two weeks now. It is the same color both inside and out. I had a 2015 Optima SX Turbo before. We also have a Cadillac STS V and a 1997 Torch Red C5 parked in the garage of our vacation home in San Tan Valley AZ. I have very much enjoyed the Stinger so far. Some critiques however is the brake pedal is too soft. As such I don't feel I get the amount feedback from the braking system that I am used to from my other performance cars. Secondly and this is a big one, there is less room for me in the car then there was in the Optima. In my humble opinion the console is too wide. Additionally the sweeping door handle ends up right where my left knee rests if I am on the highway and want to bend my left leg. The width of the console creates a similar challenge for me when I bend my right leg. I am not a big guy. I think if I was 6' or taller this could be a real problem on longer trips. I would like the transmission to shift harder as well. The Sport Mode just moves the shift points higher and does not change the shift pressure to the valve body. Suspension changes for me are not at all noticeable. Certainly not what I am used when I change my suspension on my C5. The body roll in the corners is noticeable as well and is greater than that of my STS which is about the same weight and size. Having said all of this, the car's styling is second to none. Kia hit it out of the park with the array of adjustments for the driver's seat. In Canada we get 3.3 turbo and AWD as standard. We also get a heated steering wheel, wireless inductive cell phone charging, 360 degree birds eye camera and outboard rear heated seats. I guess Kia wants to keep us warm up here north of the 49th. The power does not disappoint and the tech is leading edge. For me, being a tech guy, it is obvious that the Korean's are masters at copying and producing tech that already exists in other cars. They have not done anything in this car that is not offered by all the other leading manufacturers. Where they excel is packaging all the buttons, buzzers and whistles in an affordably stylish and reliable vehicle. All in all, I am very pleased with the car despite my criticisms.

The wife took some (lousy) pics of it, lol. The chrome rims next to it (partially covered) are the C6.

Welcome and Congrats on your Stinger! Let us know which state where you from?

welcome to the hive. congratulations on your stingers!
to mr dubbin, i am 6'3" with the width to go with it, and i do not find any problems with my left leg and the drivers door, but i agree on the console and my right knee. if the console were padded it would be more enjoyable. i do not mind the wideness of the console, just the edge. the suspension could be tightened up and the trans shift harder, but it is the first year, and you don't want to scare off any potential buyers of the car. i hope that they produce a more driver centric version, one with the creature comforts, but one that can also be more hard edged. my zr1 and my cts-v wagon were like that. i could drive to the market, sedately, and then turn up the volume and hunker down for some fun.

On the bimmer forums, it seems that many 535d owners also own corvettes.

Good to see that corvettes are universally loved.

We are from CA born and raised. We love the color combo too. When we first checked out the Stinger the dealer had a Korean market one on site. It was a very dark purple, which they don't offer here. I wonder what they do with Korean spec display models?

Sadly, those models are due for a date with the scrapper. The color you saw on that model, however, is "deep chroma blue" and will be the exclusive color for the limited edition "Atlantica" Stinger due out this summer. :)
