Hi all:
Had my heart set on a gt2. but no finance company would take my heart as payment.
So new owner 0f a 2021 stinger gt line with sun and sound package.
I traded in my camero ss2 and realised i had the car for 3 years and never even spun the tires, so i guess im too old for needing the speed :)
The v4 had enough get up and go to please me so i pulled the trigger.
Before you ask the camaro was a 2010 with 140,000 while it still ran great little things here and there kept breaking and got tired of trying to fix them.
But i was disappointed to find that the salesman person was wrong and there is no remote start through uvo apparently. which is something i was planning on using here in arizona in the summer.

Howdy. Yes, UVO stinks in the US. I've never even paired my phone to it (mainly because my ZTE flip phone won't pair).

But there aftermarket remote start options. Others can describe them. I do not have them either, having no interest.

I'm sure the 2.0L will provide a fun driving experience. The 3.3L is just fun plus - like passing fast; that was my "must have" reason for the 3.3L: on road trips I get very frustrated with semis passing each other, and I close the gap before they can do that - when I'm paying attention, that is: the 3.3L gives me a bigger window of opportunity to pass fast.

Welcome to the Stinger experience Eagle.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! I'm glad you found us. :)

Welcome to the forum and post some pics of that new ride! As for the remote start through an app I am having this installed later this week:

Just keep an eye on Best Buy's site as I caught it last week on sale for $350 with installation and am sure they will run it again. I have a 2018 GMC Canyon and I use the app all the time mainly to ensure the doors are locked.

Welcome!!!!! i also have the 2.0 in the same color.........LOVE the car but when i bought mine, both key fobs were pre-programmed with remote-start.....i saw afterwards that it was a $400 option included in the price but they work like butter.......

Welcome! It's awesome to see another 2.0T owner. I have the same model and package but in panthera metal and red leather interior.

Besides rebadging with the "E" (KDM market logo) I also ordered the upgraded auto-dimming, Homelink-enabled review mirror from the upper trims. Took all of 5 minutes to install with some trim removal tools. Homelink works on my garage no problem, but I can't get it programmed successfully with my gate.

The engine's power is great except when the auto drive mode drops the revs below 2K, which is a really anemic band and lugs the engine. The owner's guide says to try to keep the revs between 2K and 4K for the first 600 miles so plan on spending time in Sport at a minimum or using the manual gearing anyway.

Up next is a new set of HKS plugs and a JB4... they are sitting on my dresser actually and waiting for next weekend to install.

I'm not sold yet on the AEM/K&N intakes... I'd like to see more input from other 2.0T owners and a dyno chart.

Enjoy the new car!

This is interesting. I know that the 3.3L torque starts at 1,300 RPM. But I never thought before where the torque band begins on the 2.0L. I guess it could be higher, in order to move that weight? If I was in a 2.0L, probably I'd never drive under 2,000 RPM. In my 3.3L I tend to cruise either side of 2,000 RPM and use the manual gate and paddle shifters to choose my RPM. If I am maneuvering at all, i.e. want instant acceleration, I'll raise the RPM well above 2,000 and sometimes I'll deliberately raise RPM over 3,000: torque in these starting RPM ranges is instantaneous and impressive. :D This is probably the optimal RPM for torque with a 2.0L.

My GT1 is a great car. The peeves I have are:
  • UVO STINKS
  • Can't customize the display screen.
  • Can't "vent" the sunroof and keep the shade forward
  • Auto Start/Stop (thankfully there is a hack that eliminates it)
  • Drive Mode selection is wrong. First, it should recall your last setting. Otherwise, I think that from "left-to-right" it should be ECO-COMFORT-SMART[center position]-SPORT-CUSTOM.
  • VOLUME on the radio has no range... 2/3 is sufficient, and 10 is too loud ... I can't imagine what max volume would be!!!
  • Needing to remove the undershield to drain the oil pan.

No kidding, I had a 2010 SS2 for a few years also. I bought a 2021 GT2 3 days ago and just realized last night it didn't have remote start. Seriously, a sticker price above $54K and no remote start, unbelievable.

Wonder if you were the blue stinger I saw parked at the big curve a few weeks ago

Yeah, I was bummed when I figured out the following day my 46k car did not have remote start, even more so when my wife's sub 40k 2017 Santa Fe has it.
I did opt to get an Accessorides system with phone module ... but yeah that functionality should have been built into the car instead of an extra purchase.

Welcome!
