Just quickly saying welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up.Just bought a 2018 stinger gt limited. Could use some help regarding winter tires and rims. The dealer is charging almost 3 thousand for the package.
I bought a set of cheaper 18" wheels and 225/45/18 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 winter tires with tire pressure monitors installed for about 2100 or 2200, I think, from Kal Tire. You could get cheaper tires but in my opinion it's good to have a really good set if you can afford it.Just bought a 2018 stinger gt limited. Could use some help regarding winter tires and rims. Hi, I pick up my 2020 stinger this Thursday...so also a new member and not yet a stinger driver.
I worked a deal with the Kia dealer and got Michelin x-ice on factory “accessory” 18” alloys with tpms for $2000 taxes in. I thought that was reasonable.
Shop around, deals are out there.
Happy to, stay tuned I'll have something to post Thursday evening. I asked them to mount the snows for delivery since we are almost in November anyway.Howdy and welcome. Show us some pics of your winter wheels when you get them. And of course, your car with them.![]()
What the hell is this "snow" everyone keeps referencing?Happy to, stay tuned I'll have something to post Thursday evening. I asked them to mount the snows for delivery since we are almost in November anyway.
It is magical stuff that I typically try to escape for a week or two ever winter and come to your area. Sadly I think that may be difficult with the restrictions this year. The good news is more time for fun drifting in the Stinger! What the hell is this "snow" everyone keeps referencing?![]()
That magical stuff you reference for fun drifting is what we call rain that occurs just about everyday between noon and 6PM.It is magical stuff that I typically try to escape for a week or two ever winter and come to your area. Sounds like you have not had the pleasure of drifting in the snow then. Rain is one thing, but doing big massive AWD snow drifts is a whole different experience. That magical stuff you reference for fun drifting is what we call rain that occurs just about everyday between noon and 6PM.![]()

Only downside to winter driving the Stinger is no more handbrake turnsSounds like you have not had the pleasure of drifting in the snow then. Rain is one thing, but doing big massive AWD snow drifts is a whole different experience.
That said come February I'd give my left nut to have Orlando weather!!![]()
Orlando area, so you mean a once a day torrential downpour for about 10 minutes, with rain accumulation equivalent to a 6 hour rain from where I live? Lol, I've experience your "rain." More like waterfalls from the sky. That magical stuff you reference for fun drifting is what we call rain that occurs just about everyday between noon and 6PM.![]()
Yep, that about sums it up! We like to say, "If you don't like the weather now, give it 10 minutes and it'll change." That philosophy helps out a lot when playing golf here.Orlando area, so you mean a once a day torrential downpour for about 10 minutes, with rain accumulation equivalent to a 6 hour rain from where I live? Sounds about right with dealer markup assuming you're getting a quality package that includes, wheels, tires, TPMS and mounting and balancing but it's still on the high side.
In 2018 I got 225-45r-18 Michelin IceX tires with 18x8 +30 gloss black Fast Wheels including TPMS, black lugnuts with key and mounting/balancing delivered to my door so I could just bolt them on for $2300cad taxes in. That was from PMCtire.com a Canadian based wheel/tire supplier similar to tirerack.
American's remember he's talking in CAD not USD.
