New Stinger Owner!!!

Hi everyone...I've been reading the forum for a few weeks and decided to pick up a Stinger on Friday. I have to say, I really enjoy driving this car. My wife purchased a Telluride last month, so that's about the time I started looking at the Stinger and I have to say, I'm impressed. I removed the badges the first night for the "E" logo and larger Stinger badge...I've already gotten several compliments and questions about the car since there's no KIA logo.

Now it's time to start modifying it

Just bought an Injen CAI, ARK GRiP exhaust, and a JB4 with new spark plugs. Also getting tint done tomorrow and will probably powder coat the wheels soon too.

Looking forward to many miles of driving enjoyment!

Right now I'm thinking a gloss black, but I'll have to see what options the shop I'm going to has. I'm open to suggestions from this community if anyone has any?

Gloss black. I don't know of anyone on here who's done powder coat in anything but gloss black (now, somebody will post a different color).

Well in that case, I guess I've got to choose something else now...lol. Maybe matte black?

Sadly, there will be a front plate. This was a dealer locate and so it hadn’t been installed yet...once I get my permanent plates, I’ll have to put it on.

I really don’t think you should put a front plate on, I could never drill holes in the front bumper, plus it also looks terrible. Front plate are required here in Illinois but I never put them on any of my cars and have never been stopped for it.

Hmm, tell them you dont want the front plate holder (suggestion). If I catch them before the act, they leave it alone...(unless I get unlucky like this go-around of a gorgeous Stinger). Got like 6 holes behind the black box . Nj ticket is like $52 w/o front plate. Check your local laws!

Yeah, it's $70 here in Maryland...not sure I want to give the cops another reason to pull me over. My new tint is already below the limit

I'm proud of KIA for making the Stinger as well, and have no issue telling anyone I bought a KIA. I was strongly considering an Audi RS5 before landing on the KIA. I actually enjoy seeing the look people give and getting to explain the car to them. I will say that after removing the badges, I seem to get more questions at gas stations and parking lots from people genuinely interested in knowing what it is. As far as the aesthetics go, it's just a personal preference. Not better...Not worse.

AGREED!

Seems some Euro performance sedan aficionados are happy with the great value and performance of the Stinger, but miss the prestige that comes with the "badges" of the other cars.

I'm a PROUD Kia owner....had an Optima (2011) the first year after the redesign, for past 8 years......

However, the name/word Stinger looks more appropriate for this machine ! My opinion, no shame in Kia.....this is the Halo car akin to Corvette. ....
