Hello everyone.

Allow me to join this forum by introducing myself. Last Saturday I exchanged my Cadenza 2016 with Stringer 2T Premium. It took me a few times to drive Stringer before I decided to switch. I had KIA cars before in this order:
Forte->Optima Hybrid->Cadenza and now Stringer.

Main reason I did switch is because KIA does not actually really care about Cadenza line of cars. Probably because sales number not good. When I took Cadenza I was surprised that it has outdated UVO 2.0 system when previous Optima had 3.0. But I wanted bigger car and powerful engine.

I will not compare Stinger with previous cars except for Cadenza. Both cars in almost same price range (I am not talking about GT version of Stringer). It may not be totally fair to compare not the top of the line Stinger with almost top of the line Cadenza. I had technology package with additional stuff so I was missing only surround camera / back sits usb charger and LED fog lights.

Better in Stringer:
* Newest UVO system
* More technology features
* More "sportish" look
* Different drive modes! This is better because I can really see fuel consumption is better even though by spec they are the same 21/25/29
* DRL!!!!!!!! YAY! You will not believe me but I always wanted a car with DRL! But I failed each time I took new car. Not this time though.
* LED interior light. I had to replace all bulbs in Cadenza with LED to get more modern look
* Wireless charging

Better in Cadenza (remember this is 2016 model, not the last):
* Interior materials a way better!
* Leather much better
* Interior space much bigger
* Trunk space is much bigger
* V6 with more HP 293 vs 255, but not that difference in real world without drive mode selection
* Illuminated door sill plates!
* Higher resolution backup camera
* Fog lights (why String has none?)

Hello everyone...
Hello, and welcome! Congratulations on the new car, and thanks for posting your comparisons with the Cadenza. Before you go too much further, you might want to take the "R" out of the name - it's STINGER! :thumbup:

Again, welcome aboard and if you plan on sticking around please put your location into your profile, and a brief description of the car into your signature - you'll find it tremendously helpful ... ;)

OMG!!!!! Thank you
And a couple more I didn't paste here. :p

Not possible. The Cadenza's wheelbase is 2" shorter and the trunk is puny, only 16 cuft; the Stinger's hatch with the seats up is 23.3 and 40.9 with the rear seats lowered.

The 2.0L Stinger is virtually the same 0-60 and quarter mile as the Cadenza, so you haven't given up a thing except possibly lower gas mileage.

Believe me Stinger trunk is smaller
Back seats space smaller.
I do not know how KIA did it :)

Correction, wider. You can put bigger things in Stinger because of the hatch

You take that hatch cover out and the Stinger's hatch is a cavern, for a GT fastback.

Cadenza is 6" longer than Stinger. It's all Cadenza cabin, despite 2" shorter wheelbase compared to Stinger.

Trunk can't be wider than hatch; both cars are 74" wide (both an inch wider than the Optima). Same goes for rear seats, same width. I've never sat in a Cadenza, so I'll allow without seeing, that leg room is better than Stinger (which is plenty good). Headroom goes to Cadenza, and Optima for that matter; both 3" taller than Stinger. (don't want!)

I swear, it is possible to lay two bicycles in that 40.9 ft3 space. I'll try it sometime. I've looked at how much space one bike lying down in there takes. It would take two people laying the second, top bike down, with the pedals arranged just so (with a thick blanket between, of course). But get a Cadenza or just about any other car to accommodate two bicycles. I'm not believing it.

And plus to Stinger you can fold back seats. You cannot do it Cadenza. Was also surprised when I’ve got it.
