I bought a Blue 2019 Stinger GT2 AWD last month after lurking on here for about a year. It is an amazing car and a huge improvement over my old Optima.

Thanks to everyone who posts here, it really helped me do my research and figure out what I wanted. I also strongly considered an S5 Sportback, but it was just too much more money over the Stinger to justify for me.

Hello, "lurker". And hard sell. A whole year! Inconceivable. :P

I was really hoping 2019 would bring a few of the missing options, I was lucky there.

I also had a previous bad experience with buying a car the first year it was out and was hoping to avoid that this time. I guess time will tell, although it seems like a few things have already been caught and addressed like the hatch rattle.

Not to mention it took a year of sales pitches to the boss to approve it!

"The Boss" around here gave me the money to buy my Stinger. What a woman. :D

I guess the promo book sold me well enough. The hype was convincing to a large degree: including the designers having been hired away from Audi and BMW; and the car being tested thoroughly at The Ring (loved that chapter; read it over and over). And after the test drive there was no question in my mind that Kia's hype of the car's development and production was real. Also, at my age, you don't wait a year for anything.

I was pretty much sold after going to the Stinger Experience or whatever they called it where you got a little time on their auto cross style course. There was one moment of panic when someone posted a 2019 spec sheet with no Micro Blue for the GT2, but thankfully that didn’t turn out to be the case.

Overall it was a very long year of waiting though!

Hey, I also have the 2019 gt2 stinger in ceramic Grey. Make sure to go over the stinger manual (not the regular manual, it's a separate manual specially for the stinger) as there are lots of cool features explained that most people (including the dealership) have no clue about.

Congrats on your stinger

Thanks, anywhere around Houston you enjoy driving? It seems like I have to go quite a ways to find any entertaining roads. Also any dealer in town you really like? I won't go back to Joe Myers Kia, Westside is ok, but also made a few mistakes on my Optima during service visits.
