Hey Everyone,

I just picked up a 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 this week. I traded in a 2016 Whipple supercharged Mustang GT for it. I love the car tremendously, it's got semi-decent power, doesn't wake the dead when I start it in the morning and gets double digit mpg. It only has 13k miles but I want to make sure I take care of it properly.

Outside of taking it to the dealer for its regular maintenance, is there anything specific I need to know about in order to ensure my car has a happy, healthy and long life? Also, I have no intentions of modifying this car with the exception of window tint, maybe new wheels and possibly a chrome delete.

Thanks,
Noah

As with all direct injection cars...

An oil catch can can help protect the intake valves from developing a leak due to carbon deposits in the intake valves..

Not a guarantee, but an OCC may help delay the inevitable.

Use a good quality oil, Let it get up to temp before you beat on it lol, and let it cool a bit before turning it off, if you have been running it hard

Any specific occ you reccomend? I've seen quality ones from JLT but I'm mew to the Stinger platform so it may be different.

Thanks, what oil brand do you recommend? I've used penzoil ultra platinum in the past and have had luck but not sure what's best for this motor.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm using mobile 1 extended performance, but a good quality oil and keeping up with changes and you should be good

They all likely work well enough...

I use a zero maintenance one, for the zero maintenance:0

I would stick with any oil that meets the owners manuals recommendations.

ACEA A5 or above.

Greetings. Kia moved to full synthetic in January of this year. I don't think that you have to worry about the quality of the oil if you get your changes at the dealership.

My Stinger is bone stock in the drivetrain. I never stand on the gas until the engine and oil temps are all the way up (somebody else said that too). I take the long way around to get to full operating temperature, this is a thing with me: I shut down without reaching full operating temperatures as seldom as possible. Also, your battery will last longer if you drive longer, so, a double plus.

Stay away from dealers for maintenance. If you have a clue, do it yourself, otherwise take it to a trusted shop.

Download the owners manual from kia and get to know it.

Penzoil Ultra is good, get Euro if you can.

MIshimoto OCC seems to be the go to, I like mine.

This motor tends to run dirty, more frequent oil changes really help.
