I just purchased a pre-owned 2018 Stinger 2.0 Premium with 10K miles. After one week of enjoying the car I opened the sun roof, drove it home, shut the sun roof but then noticed the interior roof liner would not close as per normal. I then tried to reopen the sun roof and whalla Stuck !Got out and saw that half the sun roof was raised in the back corner while the other back corner was flush to the roof. Brought it back to the dealer and the service tech said it was the 1st he had ever heard of a sunroof issue with a Stinger. Since the Stinger is a wholly newly designed model, it did not sound promising for an easy warranty fix. Has anyone had a similar issue? Roofless in Seattle.

I haven't seen any issues on actual sunroof operation from anyone here, but rather just extraneous noises. Sounds like yours might just need to be realigned. In the worst case, yours might need more work, but fortunately it's under warranty.

Thanks Revvdmedia for the reply. I will keep thread updated on how it gets resolved by the dealer.

I feel inclined to add that most cars these days don't have an OEM designed sunroof. It seems they put a hole in the roof and reputable sunroof manufacturers make the bits that go in the hole. Not to alleviate Kia from blame, but I think yours is just a bad one-off. Either way, take advantage of the long warranty, use the "less than Stinger" loaner (I know this sucks), and hopefully they just blast in a new unit or find the root cause to fix the problem.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You're spot on Rev...was thinking the same. Cant wait to have that loaner for at least a week. Ha!

Welcome, @Valvehead. What a rotten way to have to introduce yourself. Yours is the only sunroof failure like that I've heard of. A "once off", but of course it has to be yours. Heh! Hope you get it sorted out perfectly and soon (like yesterday, if that were physically possible).

Thanks Merlin. Looks like KIA is going to ship a new one from the factory but it is on back order. Atleast they are standing behind their customer on this one.
