New Stinger owner in AZ

Hey, everyone. Coming up on my third weekend with my 2021 Panthera Metal GT-Line RWD. Loving it so far. I have the Sun & Sound package and the Harmon Kardon audio system is amazing. I haven't made any "real" mods yet and not sure if I ever will. I'm in the middle of rebadging it and I'm gonna black out the wheels with Piano Black Hyper Dip soon, probably this weekend.

Howdy and welcome. I like blacked out wheels because they are fairly easy to touch up; they look good too.

I just noticed that you said "dip". Can you use black touchup paint on dip? When you remove the dip, wouldn't the touchup paint still be on the wheel? (I powder coated my OE wheels gloss black.)

I've never dipped anything before, so I have no first hand experience with touch-up methods... yet. I've read that people just touch-up with more dip. Touch-up paint would definitely remain on the wheel though, yeah. I'm doing the dip to see how I like the black wheels first. If I do like it, then I'd consider powder coating once the dip either gets ruined or wears off.

Thanks! I'm coming from a 2014 Optima SX, which is now my son's first car and it just hit 100k miles yesterday. Original plan was for me to keep going with the Optima and to get my son his own used car, but I figured it would be best for him to have a used car that I know was well cared for rather than gamble with something else. Of course the other upside to that scenario was a new car for me.
