Finally got my Stinger 2.0T on April 30th after waiting 5 months, and then 5 weeks more thanks to CoViD-19.

Not considering any mods at the moment, except maybe replace the big Kia badge at the back with the Stinger one.

I'm not much for introductions, so that's it for now!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! What did the Stinger replace for you?

Welcome. That was quite a wait.

It replaces an entirely different kind of car as my daily driver, a Renault Laguna break 1.9dCi.
Not really a known brand in North America I understand.

Short and sweet. Welcome and congrats Kris.

Tell me about it. I'm quite patient so the 5 months wasn't really a problem. But delivery was planned just before our local lock down took effect.
What followed was 4 weeks of not knowing when, which really sucks.

And Belgium was the first to announce "back to school"; well, half school; or rather, full school for half as many kids, in a room, two meters apart. Hah! Wonder how that works in Real Life? You need twice as many teachers and classrooms. Or half as many students; and we know that ain't happening. :P

Not that difficult actually. The class groups are split in two. One group goes to school on mondays and thursdays, the other on tuesdays and fridays, or something like that. Study and work at home the other days.

This could be a good "new normal". I would have relished it, back in the day. :) If home study counts as being at school, I see a continuing trend coming out of this.

Congrats!

How is the CO2 tax hit for the 2.0T in relation to the 3.3TT?

CO2 tax for my situation translates to reduced deductability.
This year the 2.0T has 50% and the 3.3T 40%.
Next year the WLTP number are used instead of the NEDC numbers and puts both of them into (only) 40% deductable.

The other taxes are something else though, the 3.3T gets about four times the taxation.
Registration / road tax
3.3T: € 8997.70 / € 1635.52
2.0T: € 2142.38 / € 449.26

^ Thanks.

Taxes play a large role in determining Stinger sales in Europe.

Stinger has done the best in Germany where the tax hits are lower, but that should change a good bit w/ the WLTP.

If Kia wants to continue selling the Stinger in Europe, they need to upgrade the new 2.5T and 3.5TT engines and should be paired w/ a 48V battery system (which doesn't seem like it's happening).

There's also the 2.2L diesel but while that engine is fine in something like the Optima, it's not befitting the Stinger (this is where the new 3.0L I6 diesel should be utilized, but one wonders what they are planning to do w/ that engine).
