Hey all,

Proud owner of a new 2021 Stinger GT1 (in Micro Blue).
I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums and will be trying to learn more about this beautiful car.

Had a question, do you guys put clear vinyl on your side mirrors, or do you do anything to protect that vulnerable metal on them?

Welcome to the hive! Post up some pics when you get a chance.
PPF is probably the least expensive option to protect them, they can be capped (carbon is a popular option) or replaced

Howdy. Some put PPF on their mirror cups. My installer said he doesn't put PPF on dark chrome; because, as he said, when you remove the PPF later he's seen cases of the dark chrome getting wrinkled. Okay, whatever. I have very minimal road attrition on my driver's side mirror cup and no damage whatsoever on my passenger side cup, in nearly three years.

Hey Boosted1g,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new 2021 Stinger GT1!

One of the best ways to protect OEM parts is to add PPF to them to help keep them looking new.

If you are looking for any aftermarket parts, come check out our website at www.K8stingerStore.com.

Feel free to reach out at any time if you have any questions, need suggestions, or if you are looking for a discount on your order.

See you around,

I put Xpel on my headlights, just because chips to them can't be easily repaired. Nothing else gets treatment. For the mirrors, I would just put a cap over or replace if needed.

It's your car though, vinyl wrap or ceramic coat the whole thing if you can afford it and want it to last. Enjoy the new ride.

Realized I never replied to you.

Before the Stinger I had a 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0t R-Spec (just intake mode and canned tune)
My first tuner car was a 90 Eclipse GST

Welcome!

Thanks WRXtoStingerGT

Yeah it has been a very disappointing change in Mitsubishi over the last 30 years. They went from having cars like the eclipse, the evo, the 3000gt, and even the gallant vr4; and are now just a bunch of budget crossovers and compact cars.
Just watching the eclipse progression pretty much tells the story: 1st & 2nd gen eclipse = great, 3rd gen = look a convertible for soccer moms, 4th gen = phone it in, "5th gen" = look another crossover to get lost in the crowd!

It's what the market wants it seems. Such a shame. Breaks my heart. :(
