I travel a lot and found myself in KIA's or Hyundai's because I enjoyed their styling and driveability so I switched my family's personal cars from BMWs to KIAs 3 years ago. The amount of features and technology you get for the money and the very small difference in handling made the decision easy. I do miss the enhanced premium dealership experience although other than oil changes I haven't had any problems so I guess I am not missing it all that much! And I am certainly not missing the higher payments of the BMWs. We started out with a 2016 Sorento SXL and followed it quickly with a 2016 KIA Optima SX Launch Edition with Kinetic exhaust, Kinetic lowering springs and RSR R704 wheels, all dealer installed.

When KIA announced the Stinger I was very impressed with the specs and the looks. My local dealer got in a Limited Edition yellow GT2 and I told my wife I wanted to go look at it just to see if it was as nice as the pictures looked. I ended up trading in my wife's Sorento and leaving with the Stinger that same day. She always loved the Optima so she is still happy and I'm loving the Stinger even more than I thought I could.

I have done a little rebadging so far and hope to replace the exhaust to make it sound as good as my Optima and give it the sound to match it's performance.

So far I have only seen one other Stinger on the road here in Charlotte, NC and the owner of that one and I did have a nice chat about our cars. I hope to start seeing more over the coming year.

Welcome to the forum and officially to the Stinger “Hive”! Congrats on your beautiful car and enjoy all the attention.

It's funny but the last BMW I had was a Yellow Z4 and while It did get some attention from people, the Stinger has had more compliments in the last month than the Z4 did in the 3 years I had it.

Grats on the Yellow! Welcome to the club!! Definitely agree with you on the people stopping and asking/complimenting and taking pictures in the past 2 months than all of my other cars combined. It's a great feeling and it only gets better!!

Welcome to the club and you have one of the nicest colours too.

Welcome to the 400 club. I have had people commenting and taking pics also.

Congrats! My brother lives down in Matthews. I get up that way a couple times a year, will give you a heads up when I get back up there. We’ll talk GT2s over a cold one.
