Hi Everyone. I picked up my 2020 Stinger GT Limited yesterday. It was a dealer demo with 10,000kms on it. So far I am really enjoying the car and spent a couple of hours tonight ceramic coating it.

A few issues already though, not sure if anyone has had these problems. I noticed the front Center round vents are all loose and the black coating is coming off of them and they are looking flat black in some spots, seems strange.

I also tried to fill the car with fuel but the button beside the steering wheel did nothing. The hatch release also didn’t work. I ended up pulling the fuse panel cover, holding the rear of the switch panel with one hand, and pressed the button with the other hand and then it works.

Anyway, the car goes back to the dealer Tuesday to hopefully resolve these issues. Hopefully not a harbinger of things to come...

The good news is it drives great and turns lots of heads!!

You mean the interior round dash vents are loose and wobbly, and the finish is coming off? Nope, that is a first. What would cause that I wonder? Sounds like a detailing job that went bad, i.e. used a cleaner that didn't work on the plastic.

Hopefully your electrical glitches have a simple answer.

(Nice garage! Your Ram pickup is "sheltering" outside, then?)

I’m also wondering if the detailer used something they shouldn’t have. They have a greasy feeling to the vents and little flakes of shiny black finish come off when you touch them. They also lose their position when you go over a bump. Hopefully they are easy to replace.

For the switch, it seems like maybe something in behind the panel broke that makes it so the buttons are not even able to press in.

Haha yea the wife’s ram is outside and she’s not too happy about it. Have to let the ceramic coat cure though!

I'm sure they will replace the vents. That's just plain warranty work; their responsibility if not also their screw up. Be firm but nice.

Thanks. Dealer has been good so far. Took little videos showing the issues and emailed my sales person. Parts ordered and going Tuesday for repairs.

Garage is a work in progress but has come a long way since just bare stud walls. Next spring it’s time for a 4-post lift!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger. I'm glad you found us! :)

I have heard of people having issues with the finish on the vents rubbing off. They were replaced under warranty IIRC. I dunno if Kia had a bad batch of them at one point or something.

Just an update on my issues. I took the car back to the dealer on Tuesday to repair 4 broken dash vents (the driver's side corner vent was also broken) and in addition the hatch release and fuel lid door buttons didn't work.

They actually took a 2021 Stinger that was on the lot and removed the good parts and installed them in mine. I was told that parts are on backorder and due to Covid it could have been weeks. So the dealer went out of their way to fix my issues and I appreciate that. The car now works as it should.

Please name the dealer... good ones deserve the positive attention, and the biz it generates ;)
You are right. I purchased the car from Milton Kia and my Sales Representative was Orville. I absolutely recommend speaking with him if you are in the area and in the market for a new Kia. He mentioned they have a number of 2021's coming in soon...
