New owner of a micro blue GT1 awd from TN. Long time lurker. Actually used what i’ve read stalking this forum for 2 years without registering to negotiate and do the lease buyout trick.

Love my stinger, but after being in my possession for less than 48 hours and only a short 12 mile ride i found the passenger rear floor board soaked in water. For context it has not rained here in a week and that was literally the only part of the car with any water (seats, headliner, everywhere else literally dry as a bone). Needless to say its back at the dealership now with less than 300 miles on it. The only rhing that changed was i used the a/c.

So for now, micro blue owner missing his stinger, but may end up with a different one depending on circumstances, although i hope not cause i’ve fallen in love with the blue.

Enough rambling, just wanted to say hello, and thanks for all the advice on here that helped me get one of these beauties i’ve been drooling over for 2 years.

Welcome to the hive! Sorry to hear about your A/C issue, probably (hopefully ) a simple fix

Thank you! I hope so too, but as of yesterday the dealership has had the car for 48 hours and still have no idea what’s going on with it. All they wanted to say when i took it down was sunroof and door and window seals, but i hadnt washed the car, nor had their been any rain where i live. So my guess is they’ve been dousing it with water for 2 days trying to say it was a leak so they wouldn’t be responsible for it.

I appreciate the warm welcome. Got a call from dealership that my stinger is ready to be picked up. Apparently the factory forgot to put the drain hose for the a/c in and thats what caused the water to overflow into the car. Hoping they kept fans and let it air out to dry to keep from mold or mildew setting in...

But I’m definitely glad it’ll be home tomorrow.

Park it in the sun with the windows down a bit for a few hours too

Definitely will do. Crazily enough my truck is getting lifted and new wheels and tires right now too so if i get it back tonight i’ll be able to let the stinger air out for a bit tomorrow and have something else to drive.

Not sure if the problem translates but figured I would provide info anyway. My wife’s Mazda CX-9 every few years has water leaking into the passenger side floor. What happens is the condensate line from the AC gets clogged. I have to go under the car and use my shop vac to suck the condensate line. When I do it, a good 3-4 cups of water starts pouring out. May not be the same issue but figured it’s worth a note. Good luck and welcome!!

Howdy. And I was mystified a few weeks ago when I saw water drops leading up my driveway to the carport, and water puddling on the cement below the RR corner of the engineroom. Condensation on a particularly humid morning is all it could have been, since it was only water.

There is NO water in this car. If what you saw was water and not A/C fluid, how in tarnation would condensation puddle only on the RR passenger floor?

That's where the heat exchanger is, if it's not connected back to under the hood, you end up with very wet feet or your passager does - I think every car has it there... also why the cabin air filter is behind the glove box
