Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. How long have you had your Stinger for? And how do you like it compared to the Subaru WRX?

For your rotor question, if you don't receive an answer here in this introductory discussion, you can search in the Stinger Brakes forum or start a new topic there:

Rotors aren't the problem. The oem brake pads are the issue. Change them out. I switched to EBC Red Stuff.

As a temporary fix, you can do a few rounds of hard braking, say at least half of threshold, ideally from a decent cruising speed to however low is reasonable. Then cruise a bit trying to stay off the brakes while they cool (ie don't sit at a light with the pads against the hot rotors).

If that reduces or eliminates the vibration, it's pad buildup and aftermarkets are the way to go (or just periodic brake bedding/cleanup until your OEM pads wear out...I've only had the vibration a time or two and it was easy to get rid of via braking, so I haven't felt the need to swap).

Yep, had the same problem. Aftermarket rotors and pads of your choice clears up this issue in my experience. Had a local
brake shop look at it (it was a used car) and the manager took the time to look into it and came up with a solid solution for
our car without having to pay the Brembo price tag. Centric Premium rotors and pads did the trick and I could not be happier with the feel of these
brakes after the pulsing and weirdly worn brake pads that were most likely due to heavy service. Its a 2021 GT Limited (Canada) aka GT2 in the states
which is heavy for a midsized car so I think that the heavy service is the most likely scenario for this to happen or a design flaw from Brembo?
I don't know. Have no track day plans and its not a daily but this was the best solution for us.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

There are plenty of comparable cars heavier than the Stinger. Based on people reporting upgraded pads as preventing the issue on stock rotors, and the fact that Kia supposedly swapped out the European/Asian brake pads for a softer/quieter compound in the US, it seems like that's the root cause.

I suppose you can call that a design flaw, in so far as Kia picking a sub-par brake pad compound for the application. IMO, they picked it because of very low brake dust production. High performance brake pads tend to create a lot of brake dust, which a whole lot of drivers tend to complain about. It's a compromise, any way they slice it.

That said, for the umpteenth time... the OEM brake rotors are mfr'ed by Brembo and are of excellent quality. The OEM brake pads are the problem. We've tracked our cars with OEM rotors and EBC brake pads... excellent braking even at track paces.

Yeah, you can replace BOTH pads and rotors to fix the issue, but that's throwing the baby out with the bath water. But hey... if you are happy with it, that's what matters.

I am sure that they are great and I am sure you have your expertise on this since you are a long time member of this group. However, I 'am well aware of the prowess of Brembo brakes but since this car is just a weekend cruiser I did not feel the need to redo the whole Brembo thing. Look, the car is used and it has become apparent that the last owner planted the brake pads into the rotors from launches to stops. Kinda like oh I dont know drag racing. Which is fine to be honest if you
choose to do that but that resulted in the pads getting worn down to the point that they needed to be replaced and at 15k (total mileage from the factory) I told the person at the brake shop that they were getting close to the limits (0.12 to 0.16 inches) , he said no way that happened so I took it in and sure enough they were. Just wanted to put new parts on after the abuse. Just my two cents. No big deal.
