I'm on the north side of Dayton. No doubt I'll be trying to make it down for Cars and Coffee at Austin Landing. It can be tough for me to get down there, though. Between autox and drill weekends, my schedule rarely allows it.
That's a tough one. I'm furthest removed from my WRX experience and I did a fair amount of work to it (2002). The Stinger is not as "raw"; fit and finish is better and it's a more pleasant car to drive for longer periods of time. None of my GTIs even hold a candle (I've owned every generation). FWD is less friendly off the line and adding any power exasperates that. Fit and finish is on par with the newer examples. Funny enough, I actually looked at another mk7 R just before I test drove the GTS. Again, the Stinger feels more composed without feeling stodgy. The Golf R's size makes it feel more flickable, but you get saddled with higher maintenance costs. Lastly, I traded my Fiesta ST for the GTS. Where the FiST feels like a toy, the GTS feels more like a tool or weapon. It'll take some autox runs (and more than 100mi) for me to feel comfortable really chucking the Stinger into a turn the way I could with all the previous cars.
