G’day & welcome to the forum, there is plenty of information here to help you form a profile of what model to get & what mods you want to add.

I currently drive a Fiesta ST and love it, but with growing kids I'm going to need a bigger car. I also have never owned a rear drive car so I am interested in having that experience. I live in CT and am not afraid of snow and ice with a good set of winter tires.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
What a long year this will be. :D Welcome to the forum of forums (for all things Stinger). :)

Stinger has an all wheel drive option which most of use in the north east opt for. in fact, the majority of stingers available in here are AWD. At least thats what my salesman said a year ago. makes sense. that was a huge factor in my choice of car. The AWD has come in handy a few times. Drove in about 3" of snow on the second day I owned the car

Yes I see AWD is available and I like that it's RWD-biased. Also looks like aftermarket is growing. I would also be looking at the G70 and see what deals are available next year.

Thanks to all for being so welcoming.

Can't go wrong either way, both are excellent cars!

Welcome @Husker ! I did the same and it's really enjoyable to live and learn about the halo car from Kia ..... don't forget the search engine as a lot has been covered.....

welcome to our happy little family. congrats on your soon to be new stinger. I, like a lot of us here, are coming up on our third year ownership of our stingers. through good and bad, for some of us, it has been great. you can't go wrong.

So if you don't mind what are the good and bad from your experience?

Wow in 12 months? I wouldn't be able to wait that much, the car is amazing.

Bad: fuel mileage and maybe a few squeaks/ not as tight and finished as Germans

Good: looks, practicality, fun factor, stealthiness, warranty, comfort, features, price

fuel mileage isn't that bad, just lay off the turbos. the mrs gets somewhere around 29 on the highway, me, 15. and a louder exhaust, maybe with some bass thrown in. as mr Williams pointed out, yes the interior could have been a little bit more upscale. don't get me wrong, I love the interior, but, dash material could have been slightly nicer, like I posted before, the center console hits my right knee just at the right spot that annoys the hell out of me.
as for the good, look at the car, its a stunner. it subtle when it wants to be and when you lean on her, she is a stealth fighter.

2-fold on mileage; I'm coming from Optima and got use to 18 gallon tank getting over 500 per fill-up....understanding why after research but a 15 gallon tank is slightly undersized.

I don't get a ton of highway miles but I don't drive hard for the most part....

Where in Liquor-dale are you located?

My favorite thing about the Stinger Forum: talking about the good, about my car. (So far, I haven't seen any bad.)

At over two years of ownership and over 33K miles, the freshness of the experience is still very strong. Obviously, my GT1 is not new anymore; it even has slightly higher than average miles. But the paint is still smooth, with few marred spots (and even those are half self-inflicted, not any fault in the car). Interior is holding up very well (sans children, heh!:P) and has always felt luxurious to me without going overboard with it.

My three favorite things about the Stinger are: performance, looks and practicality (that cavernous hatch and rear passenger room, which I have sampled a few times). The sound system is the best music enjoyment experience I have had (and I have to admit, that when I am outside admiring, "looks" are more important; but when inside, the sound system takes over as more important, so, back and forth the conflicted feelings go:D). Under "performance" I include reliability: I have not taken my car in for anything but regular maintenance. Also, none of the complaints of extraneous noises have plagued my vehicle.

Would I change anything? Maybe the color. My wife insisted on the Silky Silver as the best "winter color" (to knock back the appearance of road grime), so that is what we bought. I love it. But I do lust after Fed Orange, a bit. :P Otherwise, I am perfectly satisfied and couldn't care less what the Stinger receives in this "face lift" later this year, or any other changes as the years roll on. My car seduced me as she is, and that is never going to change.
