Hi Everyone,
I have had my Stinger for about a week now and have been roaming the forum looking at what people are doing. I was one of those that wanted to upgrade the family sedan to a more upscale option. The options on the board were primarily BMW 340i xdrive and an Audi S4, perhaps RS3. Also looked at Lexus, Jag, Acura, etc... After a ton of searching, I was pretty much settled on wanting the 3 series. I loved the test drive, the feel was amazing, and everything seemed all around perfect. The problem was we didn't want to take on that level of financial burden just yet, so it was a waiting game with the wife to see when she would say yes.
I had seen the Stinger in a few commercials and was curious, but hadn't given it much thought, until last weekend the wife and I were board and decided to go look at one. I was still in love with the 3 series, but I went into it with an open mind. I like to make selections on cars based on how unique they are. I don't want a standard cookie cutter design, or something that is already all over the road. When I got my first look at a Stinger, I knew that box was checked.
The other requirement was a fun vehicle for my commute. For the most part, my daily driver was either the boring Honda Accord Sport, or my 2011 Camaro SS (with mods sitting around 480whp). Some people wake up with coffee in the morning. I hate coffee, so instead I like a good spirited drive. I wasn't sure the Stinger would do it for me like the 3 series, but once I got to try it out, I realized it had just as much fun to offer. The single point it was lacking in the "fun" department, was the crispness of the shifts on the paddles. It is better than some of the other options, but I think the 3 series still has it beat there. However, when comparing the price, and knowing it still had the ability to put a smile on my face it was getting closer to being the right choice.
After a couple days of working with sales people and thinking it over, we finally got to a deal that we liked and pulled the trigger. We got a Panthera Metal with black interior, AWD GT1. I told myself this would not be modded as it is supposed to be the comfortable family DD, but the wife started with suggesting badge mods to get the E up front and the Stinger across the back. That is now done and I am debating on an air intake for starters, potentially adding a tune later. I will post some pictures up when I get a chance. Happy to join the forum!
