Hi all, just got my black GT2 home to anchorage, ak. Ordered up some winter tires and rims to keep those 19s and pilot sports in top shape for the summer (and the car out of the ditch)
Next step is a 2 way aftermarket remote start, exhaust and K&Ns :-)

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I think you're our first Alaskan Stinger! Congratulations. What did it replace?
I'm replacing a 2005 Audi allroad as my DD. I've hung on to the Audi since new because nothing has come along that could compete with its utility. All along I wanted something faster, but none of the manufacturers were producing anything in awd that combined the right combination of driving experience and utility....until now! The closest I could come before this was the Panamera GTS and it was more than double the cost. Way to go Kia!!

Did you ever imagine you'd replace the Audi with a Kia? :p I bet not. But boy has Kia come around... The future is looking WAY UP for Kia owners...

I know!! Truth be told, I'm hanging on to the allroad because it doesn't have any value anymore and it is still an excellent car. I am really replacing a 2007 RS4 that only had 50k miles. It was so pristine I got really hung up on where and when I could drive it. As a result it sat in the garage most of the time (rainy today, I don't want water spots on it, too sunny today, I don't want any uv damage etc....)
I test drove the gt2 while down in Seattle area over Christmas on a whim. Then I went home to AK and couldn't sleep. My impression was that it could keep up with the RS4, and that pretty much blew my mind. Two weeks later I'm flying down to pick it up....

So that was a hell of a drive home ! did you run into foul weather ??
Haaa! No I was down there for only a day, just long enough to put it on a ship in Tacoma. It took four days to get it here via cargo ship. That is a great drive btw, but 2200 miles through wicked terrain and weather on summer tires didn't sound all that appealing to me....

Wow, RS4, huh? Very nice. I've always wanted one of those. But you're right - the Stinger GT has about the same performance as the RS4! Pretty amazing... That's too bad about your garage queen. A car like that should give it's owner as many good times as possible...

image.webp Man I'm terrible at this whole forum thing. I can't figure

When you reply there is a green button called upload file, open it up and follow prompts but before you add it as full size or thumbnail image make sure you put the cursor where you want it to go as it seems to default to top of page. Don’t worry it took me a while to work it out too.. the remedy is spend more time on forum!

Here's my most updated photo of the stinger....image.webp
Looks great, doesn't it?? I'm still waiting on my winter tire/wheel combo to actually get to drive it! And yes, it will eventually have a garage space (unlike the truck which is just too big) but the house is under construction at the moment.
